So, instead of BS reasons, can reds just be truthful about one thing in particular regarding darkin?

Varus doesn't look like Aatrox or Rhaast for one reason and one reason only: he didn't get a visual update to coincide with the fact his lore was changed. Any explanation they give is a cop out.

If any explanation they give is a cop-out, why even ask the question in the first place? You're dead-set on being disappointed with their answer regardless of how well-thought out or thorough it might be.

Beyond that...Who's to say that all Darkin are bare, carmine flesh accented by chitinous metal plates? Aatrox and Rhaast may have had those such forms, but they were melee fighters, who thrived in carnage and battle. Varus is a marksman, an assassin, an archer. Would it not make more sense for his body to look different from the warriors, having pale purple skin and corrupted legs and arms?

Aatrox may have been the first Darkin we truly see, but that doesn't mean he's the only visual model for all the other Darkin in existence. They could have had different armor styles and flesh colors for a handful of different professions - or their flesh color could have been drawn from their Ascended forms. Who really knows?

Or, then again, who really cares? Because, again, you've already decided that any explanation is a cop-out, so, why should Riot even bother with an explanation if nothing's gonna please you?

You mean even in his new splash art he is still the same because they didn't VU him?
