How come Malphite wasn't on the vote list?

At the very least he needs a GU and badly, all he does is survive until team fights start and then he presses R. That sums up his gameplay. Honestly I feel like there's more riot could do with a rock monster visually today than they could 8 years ago. I mean yes he looks like a rock monster I guess, but it's not very appealing or up to date.

Storywise riot can do a lot better than generic isekai protagonist that's been done 1000 times over already. There wasn't even a truck-kun or a PC that needed to be destroyed before the family found it.

The thing is he's one of the only tanks who's actually balanced. They're currently doing a lil mini-rework on him right now which will hopefully make him better. I think he needs a visual update more than anything tbh.

Because he wasn't on the t1 rework list. I have no idea why but they really don't want to rework Malphite. He literally doesn't exist in lore, extremely broad in game, outdated as hell but still works somehow.

Maybe they just don't know what to do with him yet. No rework is better than a forced one without a rock solid concept to back it up.

He has a mini rework on the PBE right now so with that in progress it was probably one of the reasons they didn't look at him. I mean, many champions are in a desperate need of an update, some more than others, but at the end of the day they can't put every single one on a list where people vote then it'd have a way too thinned outcome. So they had to go through those that they felt were at the top of the top and then shorten it down.
