You know, with the latest Ivern skin revealed, I can't help but show sympathy to his mains

Look, even though I or you may not play the champion, you can't help but feel like Ivern mains are getting the short stick when it comes to their champs latest and second skin release. Out of all the concepts Riot could of pulled from fan art (Voidbringer, Iron Heart, Gentlemen, Hippie) they decide to release a sports skin for him.

Now, I will somewhat say that I think the concept is interesting enough and that he could use this skin, BUT NOT AS HIS FIRST SKIN AFTER LAUNCH! It honestly baffles me that Riot decided "You know, we should come up with a concept for Ivern nobody was asking for and give that to them." Who honestly asked for this to be his first post launch skin? It's just a damn shame that the mains get this as their next skin. As a future skin, sure maybe, but as his second skin? Just...doesn't feel right.

Dunkmaster Darius made sense because of his ult, Jarvan getting that same skinline would make sense as well as Vi. But Ivern? How the hell does that make sense at all?

My first reaction to this skin was: “I feel sorry for Ivern mains.” There should be a rule that the first skin after release is a serious one. There’s so much you could do with Ivern, like give him a skin that has chromas with different tree types. Or maybe a blackthorn skin, just no joke ones since his release skin was of that type.

Same situation like with Kled back then.

I play Kled myself, but are not too attached to him to really care about his skins. But seeing this Count Kledula as the first skin after release... honestly, I felt really bad for his mains. They waited so long for a skin and then they get... this....

Same for Ivern now. Meanwhile Kayn got an absolutely awesome legendary skin after release.

Sadly it isnt just happening to Ivern. Riot has been releasing more and more skins just for popular champions. They could have done a much better Ivern skin if they took inspiration from the concepts that already existed and asked Ivern Mains what they wanted. Its a simple job, yet they refuse to do it.

Get used to it guys, Riot actually won less money last year, so they are trying to milk money as much as they can to compensate.

Can someone explain this "You can't do this as a first skin after a launch skin"?. Why does this matter at all? of course not everyone is going to like it, I personally love it (even though the name "dunkmaster" could be changed a bit) but my question still stands, why does it matter if its their "first" skin or not?

It's just ironic because unlike Illaoi, a champion where people WANTED A LESS SERIOUS SKIN Riot said they had to give her a more serious skin for which w/e reason. (My thought is they wanted to show her tits but we'll never really know), so as a result all of her suggested skins in the vote were very serious themes.

Whereas people were begging for a more suiting nature themed/serious skin for Ivern and got THIS.

Like it just feels like the skins team just make whatever they want without a thought as too whatever people might be a little more interested in actually spending their money on.

The only thing I really like about this Ivern skin is that they chose the "Legacy" players. They chose to make him the "pre-integration" generation of B-ballers where if you compare them to most if not any of the players now, they would all be considered trash.

Like, if you watch the players in the 60s and compare it to players now, it's not even ruleset that should be considered. It's a whole different style and level of aggression. I'm not even into basketball, and the fact Ivern missed made perfect sense for the era reference it was making.
