Why is Mikael's more bell than crucible?

Why does item 3222 look more like a bell than a crucible? If you compare it to a picture of a real crucible, you can see that the icon seems to be upside-down and it doesn't look like you could actually put anything into it, as it can't really balance with that little knob on top. I'd like to imagine there's a lid on top of it that could be opened, but, it really doesn't look that way as the two bands down the sides make it look like it's one solid piece.

The more I look at it, the more I see a bell rather than a crucible. Was the name changed partway through after the icon was already finished or something? I like the icon just fine, I just have a hard time seeing how it could possibly be any sort of crucible.

While we're on this topic....

item 1037 + item 1036 = item 3035 like wat A pickaxe plus a sword equals a bow. I don't understand.

There are a couple other things like that that really don't make sense.

item 3105 + item 3108 = item 3060 item 3044 + item 3067 = item 3071 item 3145 + item 3108 = item 3152 I just can't make sense of some of these

The item icons in this game really do make no sense sometimes.

It makes perfect sens...

item 3222 is a item 3028 turned upside down over a item 3114. It's called as "crucible" because it's designed to hold the mana generated from the forbiden idol in liquid form. And yes, if you ask, the resonation of the mana trying to escape makes the crucible make it pretty hot. That's why you have to pay more for the combination, because you need to make your chalice heat resistant and add a lid under it to release the mana at will.

Of course when the liquid mana explode and recover it plasmic form in the air, it disrupt all magic enchantment like roots, stun and slows.

Well, it may be a little off-topic, but isn't 180 seconds cooldown a little TOO long? You can use it once every 3 teamfights and the flat stats are not even worth(74.94% gold efficiency).

I actually had to look up crucibles to check, and I was convinced Mikael's could still work as a crucible...except that crucibles are meant to contain metals that are to be melted, which actually is pretty counter to the active unless it's liquid metal healing our allies, and that seems very unlikely.

Not even the second definition of crucible leads in to something better, so in reality not only is crucible not an accurate name for its appearance but also its function. TIL.

Easy fix would be to change the name from crucible to something else, perhaps make it a bell or water containing implement, but I feel like that would just confuse people.

Crucible can have different definitions.

The other two that google provided was:

"a place or occasion of severe test or trial." "a place or situation in which different elements interact to produce something new." (note, this isn't the type of crucible you're talking about, this is more of a symbolic meaning of what you're talking about, as if you are comparing something TO a crucible, but it's a phrase that was used enough to change the meaning of the word

It could mean that that item is the product of Mikael combining two things, or to achieve that, you would need to pass a test that Mikael set up, and that is the fruit of the effort.

Crucible is one of those words that means so many flexible things that you can come up with a number of backstories that might make sense, it doesn't have to be a literal crucible.

Because while we're at it, almost none of the swords in the game look remotely realistic, and some of them are hilariously inaccurate , like item 3139

Here's a picture of what a real scimitar looks like: http://windlass.com/wp-content/themes/windlass/product-imagery/swords-knives-daggers/scimitar/scimitar-2.jpg

It's a fantasy game, so I don't really care if it looks oddly proportioned, it's just the art style, but pretty much every single sword in the game is oddly proportioned or has a very impractical design that would get you killed in real life. item 1038 for example has a hilt that is much too thick, and way too short. If it were a real sword it looks like it would only be 2 or 3 feet in length in the first place.

I've got a fever. And the only prescription is more cruci-bell.
