Odessey Jynx pays tribute to one of the most badass people of all time

Odessey Jynx has a quote "Come on, you sons of bitches, do you want to live forever?"

This quote is attributed to Dan Daly, a United States Marine who was awarded not one, but TWO medals of honor for heroic acts during his tenure. His first was for defending his position at the US embassy alone against over a thousand enemies, inflicting 200 casualties and holding the position, by himself. His second was during the US military involvement in Haiti, where he and 35 other Marines were ambushed by over 400 rebel Haitians, Daly led his men to victory against overwhelming odds.

His quote was during WWI at the Belleau Woods in France, where he yelled to his men before charging headlong towards the German line, facing heavy fire the whole way.

I really love that this was included on Odessey Jynx, as it fits her character so well while also paying tribute to one of the biggest badasses of all time.

It's a great story, and an inspiring individual.

However, knowing Carnival Knights as I do, I wouldn't be surprised if this turned out to be a reference to Valeria from 'Conan the Barbarian', or Jean Rasczak/Johnny Rico from 'Starship Troopers', either... ;-)

I knew it had to be a reference, didnt soundlike something they came up with on their own. (not that Riot has an issue with amazing lines of dialogue, because far from it.)

Is this the wrong thread to ask if some of Ziggs' lines are references like the "Friends are always better WHEN THEYRE ALIVE" etc?
