Nautilus and the New support

So question is, do you think the new “watery” support will have any relation to nautilus? Like how he became that way?

Edit: meant to say this but they describe the new champ by saying “darker, deeper thematic than most of the support cast.” and they mention saving drowning allies and forcing your enemies to drown themselves(In Nautilus' lore it says something in the water grabs him) could this new support champion be the thing in the water?

Because of their similar (deep sea) thematic and their habitual proximity to each other, most people will conclude a probable connection. I'd say it depends entirely on the focus of either/or champ's background and even motivations. Because if both characters are completely unfocused from one-another then any association they might have would probably be confined to just VO taunts and quotes.

But we can only speculate for the immediate time being.

I think there is a good chance that he'll be connected to Naut in some way, because giving Naut some kind of adversay(maybe the captain who left him behind?) could help to make Nauts story a bit more meaningful instead of him just being the oceans boogeyman.

However in the end it is possible that the next champ is simply going to be an ocean/Bilgewater themed champ and they update Nauts lore, because he is one of the few ocean/bilgewater champs to not have an updated lore(the only other ocean related champ without an updated lore is Fizz, who isn't from Bilgewater anymore)

Well, Riot was collecting feedback for a Nautilus lore update so I suspect that would come along with the new champ...
