Rioters, can you explain two questions??

Hey dear rioters, I am doing a new LORE videos, which is the Taxonomy of Runeterra Races. But I met two problems that I can not find a clear explanation in the LORE.

  1. Aurelion Sol created the Planet Runeterra?

Or he just created the Stars (since he is called Star Forger)? Stars, means the entity that shines and heats, unlike the planet. If not, the world runes has nothing to do with Aurelion Sol right?

2 . What is the home planet of Targonians?

In the lore, it says Runeterra is where Aurelion Sol got trapped by TARGONIANS (Confirmed) But this dosen't mean Targonian's home planet is exactly here, since the lore of Aol also mentions that:

"when AOL arrived Runeterra, Targonians had already extended their territory into other planets"

which means, it is possible that they met Aol during the targonian expasion....[zombie-brand-mindblown]

So I am very confused.

Can RIOTERS TELL ME ??

Thanks

I'm not a rioter, but my assumed answers to these are:

  1. Aurelion Sol only created the stars, not planets. He has a line saying "Planetary life... the insufferable byproduct of dim stars." though, so it isn't impossible, though I think he would probably be too proud to make a planet, and we have no confirmation that he is the only star forging entity. His bio also reads "The being now known as Aurelion Sol was already ancient by the time stellar debris first coalesced into worlds." which implies planets form naturally. Whether stars form without him, I don't know.

  2. The Targonians come from Targon/ Runeterra, as their name implies they ascended from Mount Targon. It is possible that they named the place Targon after their civilization, but as we know of no other worlds, I think Runeterra would be better than a random alien planet. I don't think we will get a direct answer to this, they've been pretty tight lipped on Celestial Targon.

Aurelion Sol is my favourite champion in the game, and yet his lore is so blank because if they want to expand on him, they need to expand on Celestial Targon, or have him confront mortals on Runeterra which he would never do because they are beneath him. Poor star dragon.

1 - Aurelion Sol creates stars, not planets. As also says this quote: "Planetary life... the insufferable byproduct of dim stars.". World Runes are not his creation and iirc they just came to birth on Runeterra as result of its own magic nature.

2 - Targonians are native of Runeterra but they tapped into cosmic magic and space travel before Aurelion Sol came in contact with them, he got interested in them exactly because of it.

I don't think they have a home planet. They live in the celestial realm and from there they started spreading across the physical places like the Mountain in Runeterra.

Sol specifically only created some of the stars not all of them. Whatever created him also most likely created the world runes.

I highly suggest watching Necrit's videos if you really want to dive deep into the lore and get questions like these answered. He's a valuable resource!

I’m mainly curious about the nature of the Aspects. Their personalities and influence on their host/chosen varies greatly between them, but what they are seems consistent.

Their some sort of Medium gods, not quite Greater gods like Aurelion Sol (they had to use trickery to control him, not outright power), but stronger than Lesser gods such as Ornn or Azir.

I’m using DND pantheon tiers for this, so not sure if it’s the most accurate way of describing it.

Also, to the original post: pretty sure Runeterra was their first planet, before the void calamity crippled their empire and made travel difficult between worlds (pretty much only Zoe does it now). We see this in Aurelion Sol’s bio, where something about Runeterra specifically deals with the crown that is his prison. Plus, it’s the place he visited the Targonians at, which I’m guessing was their capitol since that dragons ego would have taken nothing less.

No. Ge didn't. The Celestials did. Targon's not a planet, it's the mountain raised up by the Celestials in the sky so high that even lakes on it froze. Necrit explained these two questions in his latest video.

there arent multiple worlds anymore. Targon is a mountain. People from Targon are from Runeterra now.
