I feel like the one thing we're forgetting about Ivern is that...

...no matter what skin you give him or what skin line you decide to include him in, the result will always end up being slightly goofy because that's part of his character. So what exactly do people mean when they say that they wanted a serious skin for Ivern instead of what we got?

Unless it was legendary, not even some of the more serious skin lines like Covern would fit him because everything about him is at least slightly silly, from his VO to his animations and even his proportions. It would all just end up looking extremely awkward and weird.

So with that said, wouldn't it make more sense to give him skins that make use of all those characteristics he has instead of shoving him into some super serious skin line where he'll just be completely out of place?

A skin's name, lore, and splash can make all the difference. Candy King Ivern is goofy, sure, but he eats the people of his kingdom.

I do agree though that a "serious" Ivern skin would most likely have to be legendary. Nothing about his VO really says "I'm serious", nor does his model or animations. Though, you have to admit, he could come off as unsettling due to his proportions with a more scary skin.

Slightly goofy, yes. But I'd suspect they could pull off a War of the Worlds inspired Ivern skin that made that same goofy walk look less goofy and more alien.

Well his proportions and movements would be fine for a slenderman style creepy skin, and then they could do something low effort like reverse his voice over and add distortion. Then you have "Abomination Ivern"

Like so

This is the same argument I made.

Indeed! Look at his long wobbly legs, or just his face

I've nothing against the Dunkmaster skin beyond the fact that they named it "Dunkmaster", when Ivern doesn't even dunk.

They could've named him Point Guard Ivern or (more appropriately) Swingman Ivern or something, but Dunkmaster?

In the wise words of videogamedunkey:

"Not every goal is a slam dunk you fuck"
