Are splash art animations considered cannon in-lore?

The reason I'm asking is that in his login screen animation, Ryze periodically sends shockwaves of arcane energy through his body to disintegrate the Void tentacles that are trying to grab him. Can he do that in-lore? And no I don't think it's the same scene as in his cinematic for the folowing reasons: 1. Ryze wasn't trying to escape without a fight while fighting the Voidborn 2. Ryze wasn't holding the World Rune while fighting 3. The World Rune is different from the one in the cinematic and 4. Ryze doesn't try to reach for a portal in the cinematic.
