Should the other Darkin fear Varus?

##A few things to remember...

  • MAGIC - All of the Darkin Aatrox https://media.lolusercontent.com/api/embedly/1/image/resize?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Fq1Fd0WK.png%3Fnoredirect&key=a45e967db0914c7fb472fd4381e6c85b&width=150 Varus during the time where their madness kicked in after the battle of Icathia, out of that pure loss of sanity they all turned to using all sorts of Magic (we don't know too much about this part yet).

  • DARKIN WEAPONS & HOSTS - We know as of now that most Darkin are Ascended beings that are imprisoned within each of their weapons. Humans or other living beings that come in contact with any of the Darkin weapons, begins to feel vulnerable and eventually they succumb to the Darkins and are under full control of them. Every Darkin we know of so far has only ever managed to take control of 1 host, yet Varus is the first one who was able to take control of 2 human hosts at the same exact time.

  • PROGRESSION & POTENTIAL - While someone like Aatrox might be more fearful for his size, strength or general power levels of destruction, you have to take into consideration that Aatrox has been using the same Host for a long time thus why the body is so monstrous and corrupted by now, and due to the nature of his Magic he can't die and can't change his host (or at least that's what i'm understanding anyway from all the voicelines of Aatrox where he keeps wishing to die). Now Varus has been trapped for a really long time in Pallas Temple, and with his arise he did something that no other Darkin managed to do in their whole time and he's still fairly weak, since he's still fighting for control and adjusting to the new body that he designed himself.

##So what i'm getting at is...

  • VARUS IS NOT FINISHED YET - Varus did something so bizarre so early on that no other Darkin has done (He became a Darkin Hybrid), we still don't know what the true nature is of his Magic is and we don't know how strong he can become because of it, and I think this alone is something to be afraid of even if he only now looks just as a simple Darkin with some human parts and a Bow as his main weapon, even his Magic what ever it is could be his secondary destruction tool that he hasn't shown to use yet, it could be the Blight or something else as well..

##Questions...

  1. Do you think the other Darkin fear him?
  2. Do you think that they potentially hide that they are afraid of what he could fully become one day?
  3. Do you think that they should be afraid of him, because of how distinctive he seems to be from them in a scary unpredictable way?

its extremely easy for darkin to break a human, two is barely even a difference.

The only exception is Kayne, and the devs were sure to put that Rhaast was inexperienced with taking over people and Kayne is just extremely strong willed

Actually it is heavily implied that Aatrox doesn't use just one host. The reason why Aatrox is so big in his splash art is because it shows him after he absorbed countless others. Remember that the darkin use the flesh of their hosts to form their new body, so for Aatrox to become this big he'd need an equal amount of flesh.

So yeah Aatrox is so powerful that in order to make a body for himself that doesn't get destroyed by his own power after a few minutes(which pretty much happens in his color story), he needs to absorb several humans at once.

And Aatrox has currently no known host. Pantheon destroyed his body in his new story, so Aatrox needs a new host anyway. The quotes about Aatrox being unable to die are referring to the fact that if Aatroxs body gets destroyed, then he'll simply end up in his sword form again(and said sword seems to be indestructible), being unable to move and act in any way, which he absolutely hates.

My headcanon is that the Darkin don't 'fear' Varus, but they think he's really creepy even for a fallen god.

It's already mentioned that his dead stare creeped out the Ascended who first offered the Ascension ritual after Varus's entire family died during the Icathian uprising and he let them die, and it's mentioned that Ta'anari is relieved to hear from Valeeva (Varus's supposed 'sister') that her brother wasn't attending his meeting, because he thought he was too freaky.

Hard to take Varus seriously knowing in the back of head that the only reason he is a "different" Darkin, is because he was never meant to be one in the first place.

I think it's more likely that Aatrox and Rhaast would scoff at him, because why else would he give up the level of monstrous strength they can attain for anything else but vanity

Aatrox uses multiple hosts and not just one. He burns through the host after growing to that size. He cant die due to the sword being his soul/essence that keeps him trapped every time the body die, making him suffocate and not able to see from what I remember in one of his stories. He wants to destroy the world because he hopes that it will kill him. He wants to die because he sees himself as a mockery of his old form and he hates the body he controls as well Aatrox is depressed and just wants the suffering to stop.

Varus isn't special other than he used 2 bodies to form his new body and due to that he isn't fully in control and the hosts will take control from time to time. He is still a Darkin and that makes him a threat to Aatrox and Rhaast since there was a Darkin war where the Darkin all fought each other. Unless the hosts have any hint of having a power that Varus can use like how Rhaast can use shadow magic then he isnt any stronger or a threat to the others, a matter of fact he might be weaker since he has to fight for control from the hosts.

Another reason why he might still have the hosts alive is because hes not as good at corrupting as Aatrox/Rhaast. Aatrox has been through multiple hosts for a long time and he can take them over very quickly with no problem and Rhaast is just slowly corrupting Kayn and possibly learning how it works, Varus although similar to Rhaast he wasn't like Aatrox who was corrupting over and over, Varus was in a well with no real knowledge or practice on corrupting a host and the 2 hosts makes it even more difficult.

So Varus isn't special and I doubt the other 4 fear him. I'd say on the 3/5 we know so far Varus is the least of the worries because he doesn't show any special abilities that set him apart the only ability is that he has a bow, Rhaast is the second most dangerous due to if he corrupts Kayn he gets shadow magic at his disposal which is very power especially when you realize that Kayn is a very skilled individual, then Aatrox who is more skilled and possibly powerful then the other 2 plus he knows how to grow himself to colossal sizes yet it is also a double edged sword since it burns his host time significantly hence why he has interactions to people like Jax, Fiora, and Tryndamere talking about how they're good vessels

Nah, they should fear Aatrox. Varus isn't in complete control all of the time. Aatrox, however, is; and he has also harvest many lifeforms in his futile attempt to return to his Ascended power, to which he has discard and now seeks to destroy the entire world in hopes that he, too, will be destroyed and blessed with death.
