Yeah, how dare they to try to tell us an engaging story with their skins? Honestly, get over it. The lore behind all this is great and I don't mind to have a team of darker Star Guardians, even if I had wished that they had picked other champions for it.

So... Cosmic? That's what the Dark Stars/Dark Cosmics are... Evil/corrupted Cosmic entities. Dark Stars are failures, while Dark Cosmics are pure corruptants.

Actually... there are theories about White Holes, polar opposites of Black Holes, that instead of absorbing, just send out seemingly infinite amounts of matter... so yeah, White Stars aren't really that farfetched as skin concept
