Conspiracy Theory: Urgot Leak on the PBE

As everyone who checks the boards and Reddit knows, there's been a bit of a divide since yesterday's Galio reveal. Players who could care less about current Galio think it's great, while current Galio players and mains are lamenting the destruction of their beloved champ. Riot's obviously seen all the controversy surrounding yesterday's reveal, and then, all-of-a-sudden, Urgot's possible rework model "accidentally" leaks onto the PBE. I have been an avid checker of Surrender at 20 for about the past three years, and I can't recall an instance of something leaking like this in the past, unless you count DJ Sona's files, but that's just that: files. Nothing but file names, nothing like this.

Galio's rework is, in my opinion at least, the most controversial visual and gameplay rework I've seen in my time playing, barring maybe Fiora. Could it be that Riot leaked this on purpose to gauge how people would feel about the Urgot remodel? Perhaps they're seeing how disappointed Galio players are after their champ's rework reveal, and they're trying to avoid it from happening again with Urgot.

Personally, I really like it. I think it's pretty badass. I've been a fan of Urgot since I started playing the game and was excited for him to finally receive some attention, but ever since yesterday, a pit of dread had come over me that Riot was going to pull a Galio on Urgot, and this has given me a sense of relief. I understand this is far from being finished, but if they stick with a model like this, retaining what made Urgot the disgusting, rotting behemoth he is, I will be happy.

Thoughts? Do you think Riot may have done this on purpose?

Urgot seems like the type of guy that would walk up to you and squeeze the brain pulp out of your head, then drink it.

I think ur on to something here, tho I should point out that some Galio mains are content, and some can the the pros and cons of the rework, but In the end u have to admit some stuff had to go for new stuff to come in, I think its a 60%-75% content-ness rating, its not THAT controversial

anyways I hope ur positivity for the urgot rework rewards u with some satisfaction, it will be good if Riot is learning from their work and getting better so old mains are happier on rework releases.

Urgot's change isnt expected to be released until after the mid year tank update and regardless if this 'leak' ends up being the finalised result or not. Some people are already making their pre-judgmental complants; stuff as petty as

I dont like his new legs...

Like there seems to be this compelling need to unjustifiably and unessarily complain about VGU's on reveal. And boy do I wish I could slap the person who said that.

I just hope he doesn't turn into another "urban legend" type champion since we have a lot "Some say this about them, some think this about them, but none are certain" types of champions.

Fiora is way worse and more controversial. Galio is divided, sure, but Fiora was full blown backlash that Riot tried their best to find a middle ground.

I think Urgot is looking good so far, he's still hideously gorgeous and I like the additional leg. While it's not final, I have hopes they'll do him justice.

I think they should have simply get rid of the spider legs. That makes him too similar to Azmodan, who's a far more successful design of a "fat guy with spider legs".

Apart from that, I agree with you: I think they probably leaked that rework on purpose.
