For me. he is the fucking champ. He has some of the most depth of a character lore-wise. I really hope he will get a VGU one day.

I would fucking love for Riot to explore Jax's emotional state. He lost his home, his people, his culture. He now roams the world looking for those worthy enough to fight beside him onto the void.
I would love to have backstory on his best friend, Colgrim, and develop his goals and what he's been doing for the past 3500 years. Is Colgrim even dead? What if he's still alive. We know that there a still Icathians as his bio suggest. Also his species and how he became so deformed. IS he deformed?

But yeah I would love to hear your guy's passions for your favourite champs :)

I really don't know. They just shouldn't change her lore too much.

Of course, since the champion's theme is the evasion of change and preservation of her youth (which is funny considering she constantly changes into a giant spider), she doesn't really need character development so much as involvement in a story or two. She's briefly mentioned in Vladimir's lore, I guess. I suppose that counts for something.

What I don't want to see is humanization of the character. She's fine as a classical antagonist with no redeeming qualities. She shouldn't have some silly excuse or reasons for doing what she's doing, or some tragic past that defines who she is today.

"Her husband's betrayal made her dislike men and now she wants to eat them." "She lost her children in a house fire and now she wants to replace them with spiders." "Her friends never call even though they're literally part of the same sect." "Mordekaiser responds to her Facebook messages with "seen"." "She was a troubled woman since youth. Poor her."

Please don't do that kind of stuff.

Oh boi.

Well (some might see it coming) Syndra is definitely the champ I wanna know more about. I mean for starters, do her powers keep growing over time like in her previous lore ? On the one hand, there's no mention of that in her current lore, but on the other hand, I feel like this is (or was) a core element (plus the fact that her passive works this way, which would match (even though in-game abilities don't necessarily reflect all of a champion's potential)).

Why did Spirit of Ionia keep her alive (and don't bs me it's just because "killing disturbs balance", I feel like there's more to it)?

What is she gonna do now that she's gotten out of her slumber (I know she'll probably seek revenge but duh that's lame, once again, I think there's more to it)?

~~I wanna see her rekt that Xerath boi~~ kidding, she most probably can't lol, tho I wonder if she could ever rival him in term of raw power ... Which brings me to my next question: How powerful can Syndra get, if she were to know more about her powers, and to successfully control them ? I know she'll always have the flesh boundary that'll prevent her from fighting godlike beings/entities such as Ascendeds. But if she could make up for it with her magic, could she ever have a chance to defeat one ?

There are many questions I'd like to ask, like, due to the nature of her powers, could she severe Swain's connection to his demon? Could she banish a spirit-god? And many more but anyway.

Overall, I'd like to know more about Syndra, 'cause as of now, I fell like she's very detached from everything else. I know many people were disappointed with Syndra's lore update, and even if I was, I've come to like it. I hope Riot will go further in her story someday (actually I just hope they have plans for her lol), as she's definitely my favorite lore-character at the moment (that might change with Morgana's lore update tho :p).

Taric Shen With all the emphasis on the Void as the new go-to bad thing in lores, with Taric's rework being in close proximity to Shen's I was really hoping for some sort of team up between a wandering Shen and Taric at Mount Targon in order to preserve balance. A serious lore expansion in general for Taric would be great since his rework did a fantastic job at creating a deeper character but on the gameplay side he still remains more of a meme, and considering the repeated blastings Shen gets in the lore (Jhin and Zed want him dead, Akali's pissed off, etc) he should also get given some love. I think there could also be a good source of tension between their approaches what with Taric being a protector of life above all against Shen's more cosmic balance no matter the cost, they could come to blows potentially.

Talon I'm writing a lore for him myself but it should be like this:

Talon grew up in streets, he was good with knives and surviving was his primal goal. After Katarina failed him General looked for a good pupil. Most of the assassin guilds were already trying to kill Talon. General goes, defeats Talon sees his potential and gives him a chance. Rest is pure character progression. Like what happened when General died/disappeared? How does Talon and Katarina go along? How did Talon see the General? What did he do on missions? Does he kill like a psychopath or does he kill when only neccessary? And Blackrose/Swain was the reason why General disappeared in the old lore and thus Talon was heavily connected to them, even he didnt get lore it was implied so. Will it be the same again? Does Talon have Ionian blood? Or floating blades are just there for gameplay? I just want answers.

Biggest problem is i don't wanna make it a headcanon but because we have so little knowledge it becomes if you add any little detail to it.

Varus

He went through a massive roller-coaster with all the changes to Lore and all. Personally I think his current Lore is okay, since they recently combined both old Lore and new Lore to keep both aspects of his character still in coexistence.

I would really love if they expanded on others parts a little more, since they focused too much on the part of how he escaped his imprisonment, the events that lead to what happened instead of focusing on other things such as...

The Darkin Bow itself (which is something they said they wanted to emphasise more in the Behind the Scenes of 'As We Fall' video yet there's no actual mention or real emphasis on it that would give us some sort of information... Such as; it's magic, if it's the Bow that is creating Corruption or Varus' very presence, and so on...)
How he manages to overcome 2 people when other Darkin only overcome mostly just 1 person and yet some struggled even then (could suggest that he might be the strongest Darkin of them all so far).
What he would do once he would unite with other Darkin's (we only know so far that he's looking for his sister in some part of Shurima).
Some backstory as to what Varus was like before/after Ascending, what his emotional/state of mind was like after the Icathia war was over.
Some deeper exploration into his Personality, because we are only getting the idea that he's this cold blooded killer who is impulsive (which is a bit of a let down, since it makes his character have no unique identity in a sense).

MonkeyKing long story short, I searched around for a champ that spoke to me on most levels (gameplay, story, etc.). tried a few, eventually got to Wukong. He was just what I was looking for. Eventually learned a whole bunch about the character he's based on, how he is in leagues lore and suddenly I had a new favorite character.

Lore wise, Honestly the foundation they set up so far is good, but that's the thing. It's a foundation without much to support. His lore from this point on needs more substance to it. He has material to work with, but Riot needs to do something with it:

Wukong's magic abilities- So the Vastaya are closely tied to magic and as such, have various magic they can use. You see that in quite a few of the other Vastayan lores with how they use magic, but for Wukong he doesn't use any magic, just smoke and mirrors (almost literally). What I think would be cool to see is that maybe the Shimon tribe forgot how to use their magic abilities due to a life of pacifism and lack of training. But Wukong, through being taught Wuju style, ends up relearning the abilities that were lost to his people.
The Shimon's stance on him making himself known - Wukong is the kind of character who wants to make himself known. the Shimon tribe on the other hand have lived a life of hiding from the world to the point hardly anyone knows of their existence. Taking a look at 's lore, his people were pretty similar in that they were hidden. But then Yi ventured out, his fellow villagers joined him in fighting against Noxus, suddenly word spread of the Wuju village which led to the end of Yi's village. Wukong could possibly be following the same path which could lead to the discovery of the Shimon tribe and lead to people thinking they are dangerous. Would the Shimon disown him for being a possible risk or are they so closely nit that they don't fear what could become of them if he were to get out into the world?
Graduating from apprentice to master - One day we all have to leave the nest, Wukong is no different in that regard. In the current lore, Wukong is still just barely beginning his training with Yi, but is already starting to be able to fight on his level, winning sparing matches on 12 occasions iirc. I'd like to see Wukong finally be able to reach the rank of master and be able to start on his own journey, out to see the world on his own with nothing more then his staff and what he's learned from Yi to guide him.
** Wukong's staff** - For those who don't know, Wukong's staff was created by Doran and is hailed as his greatest creation. While talking to Doran is likely not a possibility at this point for Wukong to meet (either he's gone insane or he's died), it would be cool to see Wukong meet his master, in that journey I was talking about above. Maybe the old goat can give it some upgrades and offer some sage advice, maybe Wukong can get him to lighten up a small bit.
** Why Ahri is listed under his related champs** - before anyone says anything, I'm not trying to purpose some sort of fan-fic stuff here, just merely trying to answer a question that's been bugging me for years that Riot just likes to tease about. They've been listed as friends for ages without any kind of reasoning behind it. was in a similar boat with a BUNCH of champs (, , ) but those relations got answered in a way I think would make everyone happy. For , it turned out each of those champs were just people who helped him collect World Runes. nothing more, nothing less. Now Wukong doesn't really have anything he's set out to do at the moment (just looking for a purpose to his fighting), but Ahri does. She's on the hunt for her tribe, which has already been shown to be a dangerous task for her from her one color story shown. So for this, it could be as simple as Wukong helps her find her tribe. Suddenly Wukong has a reason to fight more and Ahri, being pretty depressed after the stuff with her boyfriend, could see the world brighten up a bit the same way it did for when he met Wukong, getting a much needed friend after all the stuff she's been through. Everyone gets to be happy and no one needs to burn Riot headquarters to the ground :p

And that's just the material that Riot has in the lore that they could work with. That isn't counting possible relations to future champs, Ionian related events or almost anything Riot would throw his way that we haven't seen yet. Pretty much Wukong is a champ with SO MUCH potential to be a strong character in leagues lore and I hope one day we can see that come to light. Might not be as strong of a story as the likes of Garen or Darius , but strong story none the less.

Riven And i don't want riot to touch her ever again, until someone with proper lore knowledge give her the proper respect and personality she had.

Reason why i like her:

Rose against the odds.
Noxian.
Sharp personality.
Broken but can be reforged.
She acts upon what she believes in (Used to)
Carries a sword that used to be 3 times her size.
Unique playstyle
Self-Exiled.

Now, the reason why i don't want riot to ever get close to her lore again is because: She used to be this great strong character, that witnessed the horrors of the battle, and had seen her soldiers melt by Zaun's chemical weapons, So she decided to flee and not return to Noxus till she finds and a way to make Noxus return to its old glorious ways of battle. So she decided to exile herself, and break her sword, the only thing that binds her to the past.

Then riot changed her lore, and made her seem like this useless broken thing, with no goal and no purpose, then they came up with Confession of Broken Blade which completely screwed her character, she has no more personality, she has nothing to believe in and therefore acts like she is lost in space. She became the opposite of what she was, weak-minded, self contradicting thing. Which also goes against her in-game play style.

Hopefully, they revert her lore and completely delete the abomination of her character (The confession of Broken Blade). And develop her further to set up a potential Noxus return, or a fight for glory, etc...

Sona her bio, even though very old, provokes question after question from the very first line. everything about this girl is a story to be told and a mystery. her birth, parents, mutism, powers, true identity, etc.

I want her to be one of those champions, that her story comes with it's own challenges and consequences but not the world ending kind. i don't want her involved with Void or world runes or Noxus invasion and other apocalyptic events. she has potential to be explored as a champion with her own story arc.i want to discover what she is and who she is, where she came from, instead of where she is now and what path she has taken in her life.

All of that and of course she is adorable and majestic!

Malzahar and Kassadin - Have always been my favorites, since before I even really got into the lore.

I was digging Malzahar just because my emo-self loved hoods at the time (thus leading to my current Talon obsession) and I started playing him. Kassadin came at a later time, but I found him cool since the first time I ever saw Kassadin in game, his ultimate really amazed me and that's basically how those two became some of my favorites.

Now lore? Ah, geeze.

I'm glad that they gave Kassadin some love with his daughter coming to League, as in just a minor lore update. I mean, hey, it's better than nothing and now he's being a bit more recognized by the community because he's the father of one of now most popular characters of League. His lore now, as many people have said, is basically Varus' old lore. Lost everything and now lives only to combat the void and literally nothing else. Revenge, essentially. He also got a small story recently so that was pretty cool. It definitely gave us some really cool insight onto his mind and everything, and not gonna lie, I am LIVING for it. But I'm going to go into a bit of detail about why I kind of dislike his new lore.

We know little to nothing about his "past" as in his childhood. What kind of family was he raised in, did he have parents for most of his life? If not, what happened to them. All we know is that he guarded caravans and guided them, and these fellas basically named him because their Shuriman is shit.

He doesn't have a name? Or he did? Did he forget it? Why doesn't he have a name? Will we ever learn it? That part confuses me, but I still really love how he has a story behind his 'name' and how he got it. Kassadin doesn't sound like your modern-day Shuriman name so it's nice that we learn how he got that name. I really don't have a lot of quarrel with his new lore! I actually love it so much. It's when it gets to the point where he swears to kill the void, etc.

To be fair, what would you do personally if you lost everything you loved and cared for to the void and you know the person "responsible" for it (Malzahar). Of course you're going to give your life in an effort to stop him... Maybe... Depends on the person. I think it's honestly super cool that he goes "crazy" in collecting artifacts to combat the void. At least he isn't bat-shit crazy and running in unprepared... But he still is. He's gathering resources, stealing shit from old ruins, having armor made, blessed, crafted. Going out of his way to get his hands on things no mere man should end up wielding. The way he's going about it, not too long before he stumbles upon a Darkin, I'd bet, but that's besides the point. So, he's gathered all the stuff and now he's going to fight the void. He still knows very little about the void itself. He knows little about how to properly combat it, what methods to use. At least, that's how it seems to be, but he can still fight off the void pretty well regardless? So um, I guess it really doesn't matter.

One thing I want to know; his connection to Horok. I also want to learn more about Horok in general, but we can wait. In his new story he's basically obsessed with the guy, mentioning a lot of stuff about him. My theory is he's a descendant of Horok. It happens that he leads a caravan to the place in which the blade is, and later comes back to retrieve it/knows where it is. He says himself he believes that it's fated. He also says this which makes me think that Horok and Kassadin are related.

I just want them to expand on that a bit, and maybe not make him old Varus. As for Malzahar, his new lore is cool as well. Not much you really can do with a man obsessed with bringing forth the end times. I do wish they kept the relationship he and Kassie had. Now it's just Malzahar spreading the void, Kassadin hearing about this and going, "Well, guess I'll risk my damn life to kill this guy." Rather than the 'old tricking-me-into-murdering-my-daughter-you-silly-you' thing which gave each other more of a reason to fight rather than, "I'm going to kill everything related to the void remotely." ~~Which may result in him accidentally murdering his daughter again so hey!~~

My favourite is Ryze . Even tho he just got a massive lore update, when his story is gonna be continued again,I want him to meet and fight Lissandra (the latter wants to use a World Rune to keep the watchers trapped then take over Freljord), go in Shurima and meet Nasus again. I want to see how would he react to Shurima returning and would he help out Azir and Nasus to defeat Xerath? (I mean obviously he can't by himself but with Nasus and Azir helping those 3 might win). Also I want to see him travel through Noxus and how he perceives what his former home-land has become (yes he was born in Noxii teritories before Noxus was a thing as an empire).

Soraka Her lore makes no sense after Warwick's VGU. I feel like they should have reworked her lore when they updated Warwick. They have the option to make her a vastaya now, which could be pretty interesting. I'd love for her to get a VU, but I know that won't be for a long time.

My favorite champion is Ashe

Firstly, I'll address her current lore, but if you're not interested into it skip the next three paragraphs.

I think Riot making Ashe the Queen of Freljord and emphasizing pretty heavily on that in her lore doesn't make much sense as they always portray her as that incredibly accurate, battle hardened archer elsewhere. I also dislike the fact she finds the bow practically out of the blue at just the right time; being a legendary archer of her caliber takes a hell of a lot of training and combat experience. I know gameplay-wise it's the exact opposite, but still.

What I think would be better for her lore-wise is making her this experienced warrior, who has her current ambitions, but can't persuade her people that peace is what they need, not only because nobody wants to stop the bloodshed, but also because nobody believes she is a descendant of Avarosa. So one day, after yet another battle somewhere, she finds the Avarosan, True Ice Enchanted Bow, which is passed on from one generation of Avarosa's descendants to the next, but long lost to Sejuani's predecessors (or the Watchers). A legendary weapon which only a true Avarosan can wield. She claims the weapon and returns to her tribe to finally be crowned their Queen.

Hell, they can modify her current "angry bois wanna murder a child for not wanting to kill" scene into an ambush led by Sejuani's forces or a Watcher trap, designed to lure in and kill anyone who may claim the bow (it would be logical for them and Lissandra to see anyone worthy of it as a threat), which she escapes.

As far as further development goes, current lore leaves a pretty big gap, which needs to be filled. The Avarosan tribe may have united and decided to rebuild in peace, but that doesn't mean the other tribes and factions in Freljord would leave them alone, especially now that they're being led by a descendant of Avarosa and will become an increasingly bigger threat as time passes and they manage to gain strength. Between Ashe's claim of the bow and the crown and the current situation in her lore are several years, which are practically void from the timeline.

After this gap is filled Riot needs to ask themselves what they want to do with the Watchers. They're the absolute least known and explored faction in all of Runeterra I think. Maybe they should be awoken. Right now Freljord's factions are in a state of relative equilibrium and the Watchers are what we need to shake things up a bit. The Watchers would want revenge and wage war across the entire Freljord, the other factions will all spring into action, while the Avarosan would have to defend themselves on at least two fronts. It allows for Riot to explore Ashe's character both as a queen and a leader of her tribe and as an archer, turn Sejuani into the zelous warrior she is, trick the trolls into fighting for the Watchers (maybe) and let Lissandra meddle backstage, attempting to seize power in more subtle ways than a frontal attack.

This would also lay out the foundation for (in my opinion) a much needed new VO for Ashe. Her current one doesn't really define her as a character and is just meh (one example is "I do my best work from afar." - no shit, Sherlock. Any archer does, but Ashe isn't just any archer, right?).

Favorite champion: Pantheon

Reason: Sparta. Hell, my friend pitched me on the game by saying I could play a Spartan and kill monsters and squirrels and the like.

Hope for the lore: Not much. They could scrap it and start again. I’d like that. But that’s not going to happen. And while I think Atreus is an alright character I cannot get myself to care about the space parasites, or Sol, or any of that.

Xerath

Obviously, there aren't TOO many directions you can go with someone like Xerath. His arc heavily leans on his rivalry with Azir, so the only real way to proceed with his story is to have the two either fight or somehow make amends (unlikely as that is.)

However, I do feel like there's a lot of potential to develop before then. We know Xerath has his own subjects now and he's working to build his own empire. We also know that he's hunting for Sivir, as well as probably looking for a way to shatter the sarcophagus binding him. Plus, I'd like to imagine he spends at least some of his time trying to learn about how the world has changed during his imprisonment in the tomb. I think there are a lot of stories you can tell with Xerath, but I imagine it might be a while before Riot comes back to him.

Rammus

He's a fairly high priority VGU candidate so it might be more of a soft reset than a development, but I hope they keep it somewhat similar in tone. Keep him a stoic armordillo of few words, don't do to him what they did to old Aatrox. I don't mind him being an (accidentally?) Ascended animal, a Shuriman demigod analogous to Ornn, Volibear, or Anivia, or even staying mysterious. I just hope he remains one of a kind, and not a member of an armordillo species.

I hope he remains somewhat neutral in the conflicts Shurima/Runeterra will face. I don't want him to seek out fighting the Void like Kassadin or have a rivalry with Rek'Sai (he can outrun her anyway there's no fight to be had). I guess the key point is to keep him relatively benevolent but disinterested in conflict. Don't make him an armordillo with fiery passion for some great mission.

People conversing with Rammus and having epiphanies/pseudo-enlightenment is hilarious and should be built upon in future stories.

Taliyah (Ashe was already done below)

“...an empire is nothing without the people!” Taliyah has the values of a republican revolutionary, and I want them to become a vision of representative government. She feels that the common folk are good and deserving of a voice, burns with resentment at their being ruled, and holds autocrats in no regard.

Perhaps she would see how Azir’s reign, already haunted by Shurima’s downfall, is just as nakedly autocratic as that of any Noxian province. The memories of better government in Ionia could come to mind. I want to see her in gathering places all over the city, sharing her views by word and woven-stone tablets, and watch as she leads a march on the palace.

Azir would proudly refuse, threatening to disperse the protestors by force, but Nasus would see that Shurima would need every available fighter to stop Xerath’s approaching army. The emperor’s servant would invite Taliyah and a delegation inside, where they would negotiate a constitution allowing Azir to still call himself emperor and help build the city, while granting the people self-government.

I wish they would go back to the first iteration of her story, where she was actually threatened of permanently losing her powers if she didn't agree to being restrained for her entire life, and extend it from there.
