Let me get this out of the way they would both be about Garen mainly because right now I find Garen to be in quite a fascinating spot. SPOILER WARNING FOR THE LUX COMIC and the AFTERMATH short story

Why? -He had to lie to his best friend (who is now the King) the he did his job and dealt with all the mages which he didn't do -He accepted Lux despite her being a mage even going so far as to say she is a "True Demacian" I believe is the exact wording (WHICH IS KINDA A BIG DEAL) -He has an INCREASINGLY suggested at romantic relationship with Katarina (in champion VO in LOL, in past lore, in LOR interactions, and its even a canon thing with Rogue Admiral Garen X Bildgewater Kat (I think thats what the skin is called I can't recall))

All in all though I'm still hyped about Aphelios and Alune and potential Targon lore you want to know what two things I want more?

-The actual story of how Garen and Katarina form their romantic relationship in the canon main universe. As well as how they see each other given their 'situation'

-A story where Garen and Darius are fighting but end up separated from their respective armies and have to team up to survive ending with each of them coming away with some form on new found respect for one another and a new perspective (probably Darius giving Garen so life advice being that Noxus is accepting of mages and more open minded in general than Demacia, also pretty sure Darius is just older and wiser). Also I kinda just want to see that dynamic play out to be honest.

These are two stories I'd love to see mainly because I think it would be a great chance for at least Garen and Kat to grow if not Darius as well.

Do you think this is a good idea/ would ever happen?

I will be honest here, I heavily dislike the Garen x Katarina ship and I think they should give more focus on each region internal affairs before they do big interactions between regions and their champs. They dont even need to necessarily conclude the internal plot lines, I justthink they havent advanced enough(while this applies to both Demacia and Noxus it's more for Noxus). So I wouldnt want Katarina x Garen to ever happen or Garen and Darius meeting before both of them gets more stories developing their own regions.

However with that said, you're gonna probally get those things soon enough. The new Sylas story has set up the Winter's Claw to attack Demacia and guess what? by his color story Darius was fighting the Winter's Claw recently, which would means that if the Winter's Claw suddenly decides to take most of the forces towards Demacia, Noxus's most important and proeminent military commander will know it.

Add that with Noxian spies on Demacia giving news about the mage rebellion and it seems Demacia(maybe allied with Avarosans) vs Sylas + Winter's Claw vs Noxus is the next plot line being prepared for those regions and it will likely include Katarina x Garen and Garen vs Darius.

Darius XGaren is a much better romantic pairing.
