A Question About Petricite

What's up, my bros? So, with the release of the second Lux comic and Sylas realizing the truth behind his magic rocks and all that, it raised a question again that I had at his release. What would happen if you took some petricite and just, like, chucked it at Xerath ? Would it be a 1-hit KO? Would the petricite just get a ton of magic in it but Xerath is unscathed? Would it deal mild damage but nothing critical? I gotta know, Riot. Is Sylas secretly a huge counter to Xerath and all my matches against him have just been flukes?

Petricite has a limit. Given Xerath's immense power, he could easily overload the petricite and render it useless. In Demacian Heart something similar happens.

Vannis held out his Graymark, capturing the flickering arcs in the stone and suppressing the magic. But the petricite rapidly darkened and cracked, overwhelmed by the little girl's power. Vannis dropped the ruined disk and spun around, swinging his wooden stave at the child’s head.

For a being of Xerath's power, a small rock of petricite would merely explode the moment it entered Xerath's magical range. You would need a Galio level quantity to nullify Xerath. Remember that Galio is approximately equal to one giant mage army in terms of absorbtion.

Because Petricite doesn't nullify magic but absorbs it maybe a little isn't enough for Xerath. He's not some mere mage but an Ascendant being of pure arcane energy amplified by the sun. Batteries can be overcharged, and that's what petricite is. It would take a lot to drain Xerath.

You would need an overwhelming amount of petracite to hurt Xerath with it.
