About Mordekaiser's power... [In Veigar's Backstory]

Knowing that yordles were craftier than any of the mortal races, Mordekaiser bound Veigar to the physical plane, preventing him even from escaping to Bandle City.

This bit is very interesting. Mordekaiser has the power to bind a magical being to the physical plane... I guess it can be explained through his ability to control souls and spirits - If he can command a dead man's spirit, maybe he has some influence on a living soul.

But, frankly, it doesn't matter how he does it... The question is:

**What's the limit of this power? ** Can he only bind lesser magical beings, like Yordles? Or does it extend further...? Can he do that with godlike beings? Could he use this power on the likes of Kindred or Bard?

I do understand that this power was likely added to Mordekaiser's arsenal only to make sense of why Veigar couldn't escape, but...

Currently, I feel like Mordekaiser is a bit too weak in lore. Sure, he's almost immortal, has vast magical and physical prowess, but that's not very special. A lot of champions have power that equals Mordekaiser's. Some even dwarf it. Maybe it's just me being a Morde fanboy, but I think Mordekaiser should be something more. He's supposed to be The BIG BAD of league, yet he is not unique in his powers...

Unless... He actually_ can_ bind these godlike beings to the physical plane. Unless he can destroy beings, that would usually be considered immortal. Especially if this power is related to his whole "soul dominion" thing. Because if it is, then maybe his abilities are far more impressive than we think. Also, I think it would make sense if it was his control over soul. Mordekaiser had centuries, maybe millenias to master his magical abilities - it would make sense if he had reached a level no other being ever did.

Hm, I wonder how the Demon of Secrets came to be trapped beneath the Immortal Bastion.

Aatrox to Morgana: "You would bind yourself to this realm. Morgana? Fine, let me show you the ground!" also "You disgust me, Morgana. Die in the filth of your bound flesh!"

Makes you think don't it?

Maybe not necessarily godlike beings but more like Spiritual beings, things that are borderline godlike or not physical, more of like the astral things, things like the horrifying Nocturne, the mysterious Bard, even the Embodiment of Raw magic power that is Xerath, maybe other demons and spirits that manifest in a physical form to enteract with things like TahmKench Evelynn Janna

But most horrifyingly of all, what if he can bind a Targonian through their Aspects Taric Pantheon Leona Diana Zoe or a darkin through their hosts Varus Aatrox Kayn

Or even worse, what about Nagakabouros? The godly entity doesn't truely seems to be in this plane, more like its using its powers to project itself in the physical realm with a spiritual form

I mean.

Mordekaiser has been able to rip out the souls of his enemies and then bind those souls to the physical plane for several years, meaning he has had this ability for a long time.

It seems it now extends to living creatures as well.

Agreed. Hope they buff him and show more of his power and magical capabilities in-lore after his inevitable rework

That's terrifying to contemplate. I love it.

It might be something related to the Immortal Bastion itself rather than a pure spell from Mordekaiser.

I am more interested about how he could see that Veigar was, in fact, a Yordle. Maybe being an undead revenant shows him a world we don't see.

Maybe Mord lore will get updated whenever he finally gets his much needed rework

AurelionSol ? Is there a link?

What I find odd is that, up until this point, Bandle City has been accessible only through specific gateways.

But this seems to imply that Veigar could've gone back whenever he wanted, had Morde not bound him.

This sounds a lot like Yorick’s old ult.
