So, I was under the assumption that Kumungu/the Shuriman jungle was largely uninhabited or at the very least didn't have a centralized civilization within it, but the existence of the village of Paretha has me very curious. Is Paretha the only village in the jungle? Are there more? If there are more are they aligned with any of the known regions/factions or could they become their own? One of my biggest curiosities is - if a champion were to come from there what would their design aesthetically be like? I got massive Aztec/Mayan/etc inspired vibes from The Elixir of Uloa so I'm hoping that. Honestly I just hope we hear more about Paretha in the future... and from the perspective of someone a little ..._ nicer_ than Ezreal.

There is no single civilization in the Shuriman jungles, that we know of. There are countless smaller settlements though - it's not uninhabited, by any means.

Going by the illustrations in the Ezreal content, it would be reasonable to assume that much of it may have once been under the control of Shurima. There is an empty Sun Disc cradle at the summit of the temple, for example.

There are definitely other villages - there's a thriving civilization along the Serpentine River, especially in and around the delta. Paretha is just on the end of one fork of the Serpentine. Definitely their own region and probably not centralized. Noxus tried to conquer the area, but failed miserably.

If we were to see a champion from the area, we'd probably get some more Mesoamerican vibes, with bonus magic (seems Kumungu is heaped with Ionian levels of magic). Personally really excited to see that. We need more of that!

I think Ezreal also mentions the fact that Paretha has mummified its rulers, he destroyed a temple within the jungle.

So I would presume they have a civilization, maybe not fully centralized but still.
