Possible Solution for the Lore RetCon Problem

When the DevBlog about the Lore Retcon was posted, the boards have been flooded with negative reactions to it. The Institute of War and the League of Legends is what made League of Legends unique. It's the reason Garen and Urgot could fight on the same team, or why champions from different parts of the world are in the same area at the same time. Basically, there's two opposing sides. The Narrative Team likely doesn't want to go back on its plan, and the community seems to want to keep the past lore.

So what I propose is a compromise.

The Narrative Team said that the past lore including the Institute of War, Journals of Justice, and League of Legends is hindering their storytelling because they don't want summoners to seem like all-powerful beings controlling champions.

The community wants to keep the lore because it's what makes League of Legends unique and having all the past lore suddenly un-canon just doesn't make sense, and creates a divide between story and gameplay.

So, why not just get rid of the thing causing the problem with the narrative team's storytelling? The summoners.

Keep the League of Legends, the Institute of War and the Journals of Justice, and link the new lore. Remove the idea of summoners from all of this, that way the champions aren't being controlled by all-powerful summoners, but the lore itself, and the thing that made LoL unique stays in-tact. Instead of summoners, the players would just be "role-playing" as their champion, who happens to be competing in the League of Legends.

The IoW, even without summoners, is still an issue that hinders the stories. Many champions have absolutely no reason to join any public organization like the IoW because it either hinders or ruins their plans. Hecarim and Morde both have 0 reason to join. They are generals of the Spectral Isles, why would they give that up to be in an organization that is designed to peacefully end conflict. Lissandra has been plotting the return of the watchers for centuries, disguising herself and binding her time. Why would she throw all that away to participate in the IoW? Jinx and Shaco are both avatars of chaos. Why would they want to enter an organization that is all about rules and order? Sure , some lores need to be rewritten because they needed the IoW, but just as many, if not more, need their lore rewritten to make joining the IoW logical.

The problem is that the IoW itself was also a big hindrance. I mean if it isn't that powerful, then why would nations like noxus or the shadow isles care about it at all?

And if it was changed to something like a tournament, then there'd be certain champs who would plainly not be interested in it(why would rek'sai go there?)

The one solution I could think of would be if the IoW was extremely powerful.....but merely hands support to the winners and doesn't interefere with the politics of the nations. you know making the IoW powerful,so that no one would dare to take it down and with them supporting the winner, they would still impact the politics, while still allowing conflicts and war to happen. But I am sure there are problems with that too(like why would rek'sai join?)
