Feedback on Hextech Renekton from a long-time Renekton fan

So I would like to say that I think this post would be far more appropriate on the PBE boards, where the skin's: "bugs and feedback thread" is live, however when I try to post there it says: "This page does not support your region."

As such I would rather post something, than not post anything and then get the classic treatment of: "we gave you plenty of time to submit your feedback".

I actually think this skin's concept is pretty cool and it is properly reflected in its splash artwork.

The particle effects are good, and I like that they change color in relation to being empowered or not.

His recall is pretty ok, it's cool, but nothing too special, I'm fine with it.

Although the main reason for making this post is I believe the model itself and its colors look pretty terrible. I think Renekton has suffered from still having a really old base model as although he has cool skin concepts all of his skins' in-game models look awful and extremely outdated, a lot of his skins have amazing splash artworks but then falter in game (Scorched Earth, Rune Wars, Bloodthirster) - I think Pool Party partially escapes this due to it's vibrant green colors.

However, Hextech Renekton is no exception and the colors overall look really bland and subdued, besides for his blade.

His head looks particularly bad with the scales seemingly looking more like feathers, making it look moreso like a bird's head than a fearsome crocodile. For reference, I'll leave a picture that immediately went to my mind when I saw this skin - it's a mount from WoW that is a grounded bird (Reins of the Raven Lord).

I also think there's a problem with 10 gemstones skins in general, because odds are to get 10 gemstones you're paying much more money for RP than you are for Ultimate skins, and yet I feel like the quality of "Mythic" skins is significantly lower than Ultimate skins, when truthfully it should be vice-versa.

I really hope that these issues can be tackled as I feel Renekton has been almost ignored in the skin front for years, having never had a skin that was of particularly good quality (all below or equal to 975 RP).

My first ever champion paid for with blue essence was Renekton, and he definitely holds a special place for me so I'd definitely like for this skin to be as polished as possible. (Even though I can count the number of Renekton games that I've played in the past couple of years with both hands, he still is the champion I have with the most mastery points, which speaks a lot to how much I played him before)

The skin looks awful (maybe not awful but really quite cheap). Looks like it's made of crystal and brass LOL I love Renekton but really... 10 gemstones for THIS? No way. If I could, I'd rather buy the SKT1 skin and gift it to 10 ppl than buy this one even once. It almost makes him look like a freaking Platypus lool The blue-greyish color and texture on his neck looks like hair too.

I was dreaming about a new Renekton skin and I'm quite disappointed...

I have two mains: Leona and Renekton. I was more than happy about Leona's coming skins so I'll forgive you this "failure". And you'll still get my money for Leona but no way I'm paying anything for this (should be a 975RP skin).

It's almost offensive tbh.

I agree with pretty much all of this, and even some of the comments. As a Renekton main i've also been dreaming for a new 'modern' Renekton skin that's up to par with current skins for particles/effects/colors etc. When I saw this yesterday I was SO excited...until I saw it in game. It looks like a flashier Renektoy. He has sharp teeth in his art, but in game looks toyish or blocky. Very brassy in color and washed out..not shiny or 'hextechy'. I think if they fixed his head most problems would be resolved but I feel like theyre starting to get really lazy with these hextech skins. super disappointed, even though i'm probably still going to waste my gemstones on this for the 'trophy'

I´d just pop in here and mention that i agree that the hextech rene looks bad, almost as bad as the hextech malzahar x)

Neither of them is anywhere near good enough for a gemstone skin IMO.

I feel bad for Renekton mains they've been waiting a long time for a skin and for the most exclusive of skins to be a probably valued at a 975 skin level, tops.

Those gemstone skins are the biggest troll this company has ever done. Give us 10,000 dollars and you can own one of the ugliest skins we have ever made! EXCLUSIVITY!!!

edit: I am pretty sure you have to log into the PBE forum with your PBE account to post there by the way which means logging out and changing the region from whereever you are to PBE as well.
