League's story has evolved in such a way that it allows for all sorts of unique concepts as champion

That's pretty much a Cho'gath / Kha'Zix love child. I think they mentioned in the past that inspiration was drawn from that for both characters.

The problem with Omen was never that he didn't fit into the gameworld, the problem is that he is considered to be too generic to be a champion.(and his design was considered confusing, for some he looked like an ADC for some he looked more like an assassin)

That being said I do think that its possible to recreate Omen in a way to make him more unique.

For example I once saw a concept where Omen was reimagined as some sort of pack leader, who is constantly accompanied by lesser void creatures, which would indeed make Omen more unique.

You mean what appears to be a super early concept art of Cho'Gath?

No, the way League lore is going prevents unique and original champions to be released. Now everyone has to be intimately tied to a faction and needs to have some kind of link with the Void.

I seem to recall a lore-nod to Omen some time ago. The monsters Diana fights in her story were vaguely similar to him, if I recall.

It would work as some Jungle creature or Ionia

Wish he was in the game even as a void character it'd be a cool darker tone of a character

Omen was basically the pilot to RekSai

What Omen did was comparable to what Rek'sai does today, just Rek'sai looks like a much more appropriate fit for that kind of character. They scrapped Omen in favor of just, a different design for the gameplay idea of a burrowing monster. When you look at him you don't really think "burrowing champ" you think of a face eater or a predator like kha, so they chose a more sand wormy shark like design.

If they revisited omen, it would literally but an entirely different gameplay idea from before because that's what his identity was before rek. Returning him would be like returning Ao Shin or Priscilla

I'd play it. Main it even.
