Mixed reaction to MT ultimate

I think it looks great. I typically love techy/mechincal skins like pulsefire, project, battlecast, full metal, aether wing, etc. I also like how I would have very different flavors based on what I feel like or the ability to match with my team. For instance the white/gold skin would pair well with things like arclight.

I would want it if I played MF, but I don't. I have bought skins I thought were really cool for champions I didn't play, like Project Yi and Project Ashe, and then play them just to have fun with the skin even if I dont do well. I might consider doing that for this skin, but probably won't because the cost is too high. I learned my lesson with project ashe that I just don't like playing ADC most of the time.

However, I also felt that the ultimate hook isn't really there. There's no sense of purpose or connectedness to the morphing of the skins like you get with other ultimates. Sona morphs with the change of music. Udyr with his stances. Lux combines elements as a mage leveling up. Ezreal gains more parts as he levels like megaman.

MF feels too much like she was just given a pack of four different legendary skins to choose from, bundled as an ultimate, simply because you can't call it an ultimate skin if you gave her only one of them.

Having said that, I would not be really disappointed with the skin if I mained MF. I would definitely want it. But in the future I think they should consider more carefully why they are making an ultimate skin as opposed to a legendary.

The only ultimate I am disappointed with is spirit guard Udyr. He's the one ultimate skin champion I actually play, but I don't really want to pay $20 just to get a skin that feels too much like it should have been Udyrs visual rework. I feel like I'm being made to pay just so a champion I main won't look like crap. Having spirit color visuals makes a lot more sense to show the current form, making more sense than having the magical ability to swap out his hats at warp speed. I mean, what are they going to do for udyrs visual rework to not make it look too similar to spirit guard, other than make it look arbitrarily lower quality? And udyr is in desperate need of that visual update.

Kinda feel the same. If it had turned out to be a legendary, I had bought it and pick up MF, even if she never interested me in the past. Simply because I love these cyberpunk thematics.

But I am definitely not going to buy such an expensive skin for a champ I never considered playing before. Well, we can't change it anymore. Hope (and I said this way too often already...) that Riot will improve their decision making when it comes to skins in the future....
