Yummi's Book

Hello everyone.

The boards are exploding with "Yummi leaks", but I haven't see anyone pay attention to the book. I assume you have already seen the official teaser. Here it is anyway:

The teaser is short but it's cramped with Yordle lore, specifically how they travel between places: their portals. One of the pages peaked my interested and that's why I'm here:

This is how Runeterra looks, or used to look, like for them. Notice the 6 glowing marks. Those supposedly represent factions, but they look very different from the ones we know off. Now notice how everything changes a few seconds later:

This is how Runterra looks like to us. We can clearly distinguish all of the major factions: Noxious, Shurima, Targon, Ionia, Piltover and Zaun. Demacia and Frejlord are missing, but there's one portal near Frejlord. The other two pages show Bilgewater and the Shadow Isles.

We can see where all the Yordle portals are located. More important, we know these portals are somewhat "static" because they didn't change location when the 5 isles came together to form Valoran, Shurima and Ionia. Also, notice how most of the portals near Bilgewater are crossed out:

They've probably either become unsafe to travel to, or are no longer accessible. ######Or maybe that's where Yummi has already look for her Master?

What was that land shift? Does it mean anything? What about the unkown faction emblems? Finally, why are the portals near the Shadow Isles going towards the center of The Mist?

I'm excited for Yordle lore; it's long overdue. Shower me with the goodies Papa Rito.

That's the Void from the looks of it. Shadow Isles isn't represented by pink/violet swirling vortexes. Plus, that landmass looks like the Icathia peninsula, not a bunch of islands.

I have 3 questions.

  1. Why does the gem on the book change colors?
  2. Why is freljord and the frostguard not listed like the immortal bastion and noxus is?
  3. Is the void consuming the portals and making it so all the portals close and nobody is ever able to enter or leave bandle city? Love the teaser, lots of mysteries listed, excited for the lore!

The section where you talk about the possibility that the land is different in their realm blew my mind.

The front book cover looks a lot like it was inspired by the honor system. The spherical gem in the middle surrounded by leaves, is very similar to the indicator for your current honor level on your profile page. Additionally the colors of the gem match up too.

I'm not sure what to make of that. Maybe it's just coincidence or a reference without meaning. I highly doubt it's a connection between game and lore.

My guesses for the old icons:

3 blocks in the north: Old Freljord, ruled by Avarosa, Serylda, and Lissandra.

Circle to the northeast: Old Ionia. Probably with minimal human population at the time and even more spirits, like the original vastayasha'rei and more.

Wavy person-like icon in the middle, near present-day Noxus: Unknown. Could be the people that Mordekaiser eventually conquered.

Snake icon: Kumungu, which has no icon as of now. I assume that their civilization is currently hidden, and between then and now was conquered by the Shuriman empire. We'll probably get more Kumungu info with the new assassin.

Spike and circle to the east: Old Targon, dominated by the celestials at the time. Might have been around the same time that Aurelion was enslaved.

Southernmost wing-like icon: Almost certainly Icathia, but could maybe be the civilization that became the Blessed Isles civilization? Doubtful though; I'm guessing it's Icathia.

As for other theories, the Bilgewater portals in the ocean likely have an X on them because of the black mist going over them pretty often; yearly, in normal time, but we know time passes differently in Bandle City so they probably want to avoid those portals altogether. It might also have to do with the destruction of Fizz's people, who are, of course, Yordles too. And the portals being sucked into the Void...well, the Void consumes all, physical or spiritual, so it's not too much of a surprise there. But I assume we'll get more details on it soon.

So...Yordles are actually evil?

Makes sense when you look at Veigar and Teemo...
