If we really can't go back on our choice, you should have set the client, so that nothing can be accessed until the players do. I know that is extreme, but I think it would really cement the idea, and give the fans an ironic sense of participation in the event.
Obviously it won't happen, but hey, I like it when companies really push the envelope, but the envelope has not been pushed in this case, and that's what I'm asking for.

As in...No looking at your collections, no looking at your profile, no looking at the store, not even being allowed to queue up...Until you choose a side.
How about no.
Some people may be indecisive, and in being such, may lose out on some of the daily missions. Some people may just straight up not want to participate in the event. Are you seriously telling me you want those players, who don't care about the event, those players shouldn't be allowed to do anything unless they pick a side?
