Ever since hearing about how the Lore team is going to be kicking it up to 10 this year and further years, I've gotten into the habit of reading a bunch of lore. My question to you (the reader) is how much lore do you know? Have you read deep into the stories of Runeterra? Or do you only know Jax's favorite eggs from the loading screen tips?
I know for a fact that we (people playing the game) are called summoners (this gets proven by in-game quotes). As well as summoners rift is some kind of a battle arena in which champions (special people or creatures from the lore) get chosen by authorities to fight enemies of equal strenght in the arena
I like to think that I know almost everything lore related, but realistically I'm probably far from it. I've read everything on the universe site at least once, most stuff even twice. Additionally I read through most of the champion AMAs, but they're a little tedious.
I have read the majority of the champions' base lore but almost none of the side stories or comics.
I've read the majority of the content on the universe website, took a long time but I got there. I don't know if I could recall it all accurately without prompting though. I think I've read all the bios, I know I still have a couple stories left. I don't know anything about the tips though.
Of the stories I still need to read, that would be Nidalee's story, Demacian Heart, City of Iron and Glass, and maybe some others?
Read everything once. I'm currently re-reading everything. Can't wait to read The Dreaming Pool for the 8th time or so. [slayer-pantheon-rainbows]
Everything about Piltover and Zaun. Some about other champions I am interested in.
Pretty much read the lore regarding ionia, demacia, mount Targon. Currently reading fredgelord and the (can't remember name of the city where camille,ekko and Warwick live in). Not bothered to read up the lore of noxus or the place where pyke comes from lore.
From new one? Almost nothing, and i intend to keep it that way.
I know Jhin's lore down to the letter(I mean, I'm kind of required to). I know most of the lore for the Ionian champions, and Ionia itself. Other champions and regions and champions are eh. I haven't really been reading the lore lately due to issues with my eyes. I see an after image if I look at bright things for even the shortest amount of time, so reading white text on a black background is the worst, and changing it to black text on a white background is even worse.
I surprisingly know a lot for someone that hasn't read it all, though that might be because I know people who are more well versed on the subject than I am.
Let's see, I've read all of the bios. I see no reason not to & it gives me taste of who the champs are (from the narrative perspective). That said, I don't really re-read them. While I know all the major stuff about the champs backstory & even some mid level stuff, don't except me to know all of the minor details. I honestly don't bother with the color stories unless it's a champ I'm personally invested in. Short stories I tend to skip to, unless it involves champs I like. Short stories are one offs most the time with no major changes I need to concern myself with. Long stories, or stories with multiple parts, like Burning Tides,Shadows & Fortune,Bloodlines & Confessions of a Broken Blade are stories I read. For one, they're not one offs. They feature major events for a number of the champs. I've read all of the comics & watch all of the cinematics/animations. I'm more of a visual guy, so I'm willing to indulge in those even if they're not about my favorite champs. Do I know everything about the lore? Nope. Do I know all of the major stuff & basic elements? Yes, or at least I got a good idea of it.
I started reading the lore early this year, my method is reading through the regions of Runeterra (the main story > all champions bios, color stories, and comics) I've finished Bilgewater, Demacia, Mt.targon, Freljord and the void) i am starting with Shurima next, In my opinion this is the best way to read the lore of league of legends.
I don't know a single bit of lore in this game, can't even tell you 1 tiny sentence of lore that I know about, and it's fine that way because I value gameplay over lore
If the Lore Team is planning on getting a lot of work done then reading the current lore is the last thing I'd recommend. You're setting yourself up for disappointment for when they eventually pick something you read and liked and take a steamroller to it.

I absorb every lore even vaguely relating to a champion I like. Other lores I do not really care about. Anything involving Piltover/Zaun I have likely read. I read Skarners lore purely because he relates to many stories in these places. Meanwhile I haven't read 
lore in forever nor care to.
