Hihi! Sooo, on the new runeterra map soraka is listed as a Targonian(?) . Her lore tho just ints that she used to be an "Aspect", since the lore itself is older than the whole aspects thingy going on. Still on her champion page she's listed as an Ionian champion. I think we need like some sort of clarity about it or at least an update on the old classic Soraka's lore just to clarify her actual status!
In the story that was leaked recently, Soraka is mentioned as a prophet of an ancient species.
She may be an original targonian, like an aspect, but without a host. Just the aspect herself.
more than likely is from Targon Prime (where the celestial Aspects are) and was banished/ came to Runeterra after which she left Mount Targon and went to live in Ionia.
In Nami's story it confirmed that 
fled from Mount Targon and headed for Ionia (likely in order to meet Soraka/ some Ionian-Lunari temple).
