My hopes for the Ionia lore update

With that in mind and with the last two updates to go by , this is what I hope/expect from the Ionian lore update

Art The art for the other updated regions has so far been spectacular and with Ionia now on the way I can’t wait to see how one of the most beautiful regions in runeterra will be displayed

Story The void story really set the bar high and hopefully the story for Ionia will be just as well written. Considering that the lore update coincides with irelias vgu , the main story will almost certainly focus on either before during or after the noxian invasion of Ionia or a combination of all three

Champions It’s really tricky to guess which of the other Ionian champions will be receiving new bios with the region update but these are the champions I feel have the best chance of getting new bios

From Irelias quotes I have deduced that:

item 3078 Trinity Force is now an Ionian artifact, representing the Land, Name, and Nation of Ionia.

item 3748 Also Titanic Hydra is an Ionian artifact as well.

I kinda doubt that Yasuo would get an update,since his current lore is pretty functional the way it is. Kind of the same reason why Lucian was left out of the Demacia update.

Soraka might have a good chance,simply because they expressed their desire to update her lore since the Warwick rework.

I hope Syndra will get a new bio. Not saying that her lore needs to change, but I'd like some more details and a short story about her !

My guess is that were getting Karma LeeSin MasterYi and MAYBE Yasuo but I honestly kinda doubt it.

Reasoning: They all have a much stronger thematic revolving around the Noxian Invasion. Though yes, almost every Ionian Champion has some connection to the war, but it's a much larger aspect of these specific character's stories and how they became...well...themselves.

Karma was originally a pacifistic leader that sought to bring back balance and peace to Ionia's people after the war, though her story seems to have a few more changes to it according to her new Short Bio and some Irelia interactions MasterYi 's village was destroyed by the invasion, specifically by Singed's chemicals, and what appears to be a Wuju swordsman can be seen fighting alongside Irelia in her 'Defiant Blade' teaser. Personally, I believe that ALL (if not 'most') of the Wuju students were killed during the war, leaving Master Yi as the last one who can teach the lost art and Wukong as his last disciple. And LeeSin 's original origin was that he was a monk protesting Noxian occupation in Ionia, doing this by putting himself on fire until Noxus occupation has stopped, burning his eyes out. This is probably changing much drastically due to his deeper connection with Summoners, but also because we already have a color story ready for him when Universe was set up. Yasuo was also seen fighting Riven in the Defiant Blade cinematic, but I feel that his story is already somewhat up to modern standards and can be much more delved upon on a later date.

On another note, we may actually get ANOTHER Ionia lore event fairly soon this year with Akali 's rework, something probably a lot more 'Kinkou' focused, maybe even a Kinkou icon! My guess is that Zed and Kennen will get a new voiceover but that's pretty small, maybe even a Voice over update for Shen ?

One of the biggest aspects of the lore has always been Noxus' Invasion of Ionia. And now that we have Noxus and soon Ionia updated, I hope to see more on this front. It has affected a ton of champions and is really important, I'd love to hear some stories and details of it.

Everyone forgets that Sona is originally Ionian, and I hope they don't take that away from her. My theories on that her tribe was killed in the war, and that's how she was orphaned. Would be a nice nod so that it could kind of start showing that all these champs don't necessarily exist at the same time. Any sort of lore update would be update for her, tho, so ¯\(ツ)/¯

We're bound to have a Karma update w/ the new interactions she has with Irelia. Irelia seems to be at odds with her, which is unsettling seeing that they've always been kind of the co-leaders of Ionia.

Also, Syndra is in desperate need of some love in terms of lore and character development. Seeing that she is so loved by many, its surprising seeing how little attention she gets in terms of lore. She's sitting in a static area right now, definitely needs some friction.

Irelia mentions a sibling named Kai....could this be the same Kai from Navori that fused with Valmar and the Darkin to create the Varus Champion?

In that case, Irelia may have some connections with Varus (at least, with Kai). This would give us a time placement for the Battle of Pallas, being right at the beginning of the Invasion when she lost her first brother.

Im certainly of the opinion that Zed will be updated this time, I would eat my own shorts if he's not. I mean surely he has equal chance and better reason to be updated with Irelia than with Akali.

Oh and yeah art has to be the biggest thing to look foward to imo. The territory of Ionia has to be the least flesh out among the three contenints. The modern Ionia setting has superior world building potential compared to the old lore.
