Aatrox's new Lore

One of the ancient darkin, Aatrox was once a peerless swordmaster who reveled in the bloody chaos of the battlefield. Trapped within his own blade by the magic of his foes, he waited out the millennia for a suitable host to wield him - this mortal warrior was corrupted and transformed by the living weapon, and Aatrox was reborn. Though tales of the darkin have now passed into legend, he remembers only too well the destruction of his race, and wreaks his vengeance one sword blow at a time.

Will they ever stop dumbing down character lore???

Vengeance, vengeance, vengeace. Every shady or evil champion in league is fueled by freakin vengeance nowadays.

Can it be any more cliché???

They ruined Xerath's lore and now Aatrox?

Xerath used to be this awesome entity who only cared about knowledge, he didn't even care about his imprisonment, he knew he had eternity before him, mundane stuff didn't matter to him, he held no resent toward his captors. Then they changed him into this cliché uninspired evil power-hungry villain that wants to shove everyone that stands in his way, and guess what, he's now fueled by VENGEANCE as he seeks to make his captors pay for stepping in his way.

Maokai initially joined the league because they promised him to turn him back into a regular tree. Now? you guessed it, he only seeks VENGEANCE toward those who corrupted shadow isles. I used to feel empathy toward Maokai's fate, but now i can't anymore.

Please Riot STOP! I understand it might be easier to rework character's lore to reconcile multiple characters' lore, but you guys are going on full-on cliché mode will these lazy lores. You are killing originality for the sake of laziness.

Edit: Violence and War used to be the nature of Aatrox, now you are telling us that there are some deeper motivation for his acts? Aatrox is getting humanized, which is killing any of that Darkin/demon vibe.
