Celestials/Ascended/Void/Darkin Power-Level Tiers?

I mean, how would the Darkin rank in the grand scheme of things? Clearly they're more ancient than Shurima and any other civilisation heard of thus far. But do they come close to Celestial-tier like Bard/Kindred? Where does Tahm rank? Or the Void for that matter? Also Xerath/the ascended vs Bard. Power levels... unclear. Seems like the Kindred are the highest tier of authority released so far, being literally the embodiments of death itself.

How would you rank them in order of authority/strength? Imo...

[NOTE: NOT SAYING THE BELOW IS A 100% ACCURATE/EXHAUSTIVE REPRESENTATION, JUST ONE PERSON'S ATTEMPT]

  • Celestials/Eternals - Kindred, Bard, Soraka (Pre-Fallen)

===================== ^ by a wide margin in terms of domain

  • Ascended/Watchers - Xerath, Azir, Nasus, Renekton, ???
  • Elementals/Major Spirits -* Brand, Anivia, Malph, Ao Shin, Nocturne
  • Darkin/Iceborn/Angels - Aatrox, Lissandra, Kayle, Morgana

===================== * missing/outdated lore post-IoW nuke = somewhat uncertain

  • Shadow Isles/Demons/Fae - Morde, Kalista, Elise, Karth, Maokai, Tahm, Pix, etc.
  • Avatars (vessels of power) - Diana, Leona, Karma, Zed, Udyr, Malz, Kass, etc.
  • S-Class/Awakened Plebs/Voidborn (~high mystical potential) - Syndra, Lux, Annie, Veigar, Zyra, Wu, Sion, Irelia, Tryn, Ashe, Lee, TF, Nami, Janna, Fidd, Amumu, Galio, Zil, Shaco?, LB?, Jax?, Vel, Cho, etc.
  • Standard Plebs (~physical/tech/minor magic users) - Most Humans/Yordles/Other Races, Garen, Darius, Fizz, Voli, GP, MF, Jinx, Ekko, Jayce, Panth, Rengar, Blitz, Zac, Riven?, Yi?, Yasuo?, etc.
  • Clueless Plebs (zero affinity) - You

The categories are generally split between mortal/immortal races, spirits (major and minor i.e. mainly individual spirits with shorter legacies/smaller domains), and the cosmic eternals tier. List seems to naturally have evolved into being ordered based on how hard it is to kill a given category of individuals (in addition to general strength/ability to effect change and control/dominance/scale of their domain), with the more ancient and aforementioned eternals reigning supreme (whether in corporeal or spiritual form).

Edit: Moved around champions/tightened up categories, with the Watchers on equal footing with Ascended based on limited information and basic judgement.

{quoted}

Are Kindred really celestial? I'm pretty sure that they're just incredibly powerful spirits. Bard and Kindred are basically uber-spirits, if I'm not wrong. :P

Kindred is quite literally Death, who split himself in two to "always have a friend" due to everyone decrying and shunning Death. Lamb and Wolf is what people SEE Death as, a legend that was perpetuated by the masses as to what Death is. It's stated in the lore that they were around long, long before the legend came about. Lamb states that they have many names:

"In the West, I am Ina to his Ani," said Lamb. "In the East, Farya to his Wolyo. But we are Kindred everywhere. I am always Lamb to Wolf, and he is always Wolf to Lamb."

Kindred is the principles of Death given form. Lamb is the acceptance of death, and swift release while Wolf hunts down those who run from Death and pervert it's ways (Think Karthus, Sion, Urgot etc). If you read their taunts and quotes they speak of being able to do many things that are near god-like (Ekkos taunt says they see "know all his almost-lives" in reference to when he rewinds time for his ult). A Rioter also said in the AMA that Kindred is "omniscient", and that Death comes for all things, and that they can be in many many places at once to do their "job".

Kindred is probably the closest thing to a God that the LoL lore has. A God that serves a purpose, one that does a duty but doesn't abuse power.... that is what Death is. Most people will dismiss them as below the other champs because they don't USE their power for any sort of means. They don't use it to amass fame, or more power, or for riches or knowledge. They have nothing to show off for, nothing to prove and nothing to gain. They just ARE.

Death is the what will put the chairs on the tables, turn out the lights and lock the door behind it when the universe finally ends. So for me, Kindred stands at the top. ALL things meet Kindred (according to both lore, taunts and Riot itself), they are unavoidable.

If the Race of Aatrox was so powerful, Why the hell there are only 5 of them remaining?

A few of my own opinions...

  1. I don't think the Ascended are all that badass. Nasus and Renekton got a pretty significant downgrade, but Xerath is definitely out of the league of the other three Ascended. I'd put them in the same tier as Aatrox, with Xerath in the next tier up. The problem is we really have no lore on these guys outside the context of each other, so we can't tell how powerful they are relative to anyone else.

  2. Lissandra... She's not really very powerful. She relies on the Watchers for everything. If she were more powerful than Ashe and Sejuani by any significant margin she'd have killed them by now, but instead she's limited to plotting and scheming. She's got some power, but it's not much. Let's also not forget that one of Volibear's people blinded her and Udyr mopped the Freljord with her face. Without the Watchers, I'd put her on par with other empowered humans like Shyvana or Viktor.

  3. We haven't had lore for them in a while, which is why I think people forget that Kayle and Morgana are possibly two of the most powerful beings on Runeterra. Kayle especially has evidence to back up that claim - The Institute of War, a group so powerful they contained world-ending monsters and could end wars with the snap of their fingers, kept her around to protect them. And they've needed her, too. We also know Morgana can match her. I'd rank these two just below the Celestials until we get some new lore for them.

  4. You can't lump all the Shadow Isles champs together. Some of them (Kallista, Mordekaiser) are way out of the league of the rest.

  5. The elemental spirits are hard to get rid of but not especially strong. Brand was taken down by Garen and Lux, for example, and Lissandra can beat, or at least corrupt, Anivia (per her Blackfrost skin) but can't beat Udyr.

I don't think aatrox is even that powerful(alone). Judging from the lore he alone buff everyone instead of fighting himself. And people really stop up playing the celestrials, I mean bard doesn't apear to have any real combat ability. All he seem to do is able stop shit and steal shit.

Soraka sucks, she is fallen. Diana , Leona have laughable powers if you compare them to any Ascended or Lissandra. Darkins are not strong as you thing neither.

I think Celestials and Ascendeds are pretty close.

Also Lissandra defeated Brand in ancient times. And we know any ascended is far far more superior than Lissandra .

Aatrox #1 champ on the list cause he is the best :)

well let's check a bit of the lore....

Just when all hope seemed lost, Aatrox appeared. With but a few words, he urged the soldiers to fight to the last. Aatrox vanished. Tales like these appear among the myths of many cultures. If they are all to be believed, Aatrox's presence has changed the course of some of the most important wars in history. "Some fight for honor, some fight for glory. It matters only that you fight." "I am as timeless as war."

This means he is at God level, and he is timeless. Whenever there is war, strife, discord he will be incarnated thanks to that kind of energy. So in other words as long that there is conflict involved in the realm of existence he will persevere, for ever and ever. Only by achieving True Peace he will disappear.

I know this post is a week old but wouldn't you add Zyra Zyra to the elementals? She's nature and you already have fire, ice, and stone/rock. In fact you don't have her listed in any category T.T

Leona Diana and Kassadin would be s-class I guess.

How is Ashe s-class? All she has is a magic bow. Pantheon jumps into the heavens and never misses with his spear.

I'd say in terms of raw fighting power the darkins are on par with celestials/spirits,but darkin seem to be a lot more physical meaning it is probably easier to end them(as opposed to bard, who tends to hang out in his spirit realm)

Why is Nocturne not in the elementals? He is the embodiment of darkness and nightmares. He's definitely stronger than Elise or Maokai. Fiddlesticks probably is too.

Leona and Diana should be moved down. They are more like priests of a religion. I don't think they are on the level of Kayle and Morgana. Karma is also questionable when we have Syndra two tiers lower.

A lot of the S-Class could be argued to be stronger than some of the Shadow Isles people. Annie, Wukong and Jax are all probably stronger than Maokai.

Wasn't Brand beaten by a bunch of Demacian soldiers? Not hugely impressive if so but I suppose at his full potential he could be dangerous.

Quit categorizing Xerath as a common Ascended like Susan, Renek and Azir.

He underwent a fairly empowered ritual that brought him to a cosmic level of power.

Ok here is my take on it.

God tier:

Malzahar is stronger than the creatures he worships? What? Also, you can't place all of the Voidborn in the same category. Cho'Gath is likely far above Kog'Maw, Kha'Zix, Vel'Koz, and even Rek'Sai. Unlike in the actual game, he has no size limit, and is most likely absolutely gigantic. Also, he most likely possesses far greater powers than in the game. Also, the list is missing Malphite. He's supposed to be around the size of a mountain, and when you're that big, you HAVE to be really strong. I'd probably put Cho'Gath around the power of Renekton and Nasus. Not to mention Rek'Sai and Vel'Koz should be moved up. Vel'Koz is gigantic in his trailer, Rek'Sai is even bigger.

In terms of power, Syndra has to be above or at least the same rank of karma as they are pure opposites and she kinda has "infinite power" so take that as you will

Ebonmaw Dragon10/5/2015, 12:52:36 PM1 votes

Well, since everyone forgot about him, i will mention him: Veigar The Yordle that corrupts and uses Cosmic Energies... you know, the energies that Bard (who is highest in the list) is made of.
