Regarding Reav3's response about Aatrox visual tweaks

I think the most of the community is happy Riot took feedback seriously and responded to it not only with words, but with changes too.

And personally i like the new textures cause they fit better his theme and go much more in line with Rhaast's model - which is imo important.

But the wings.... PLEASE DONT give him his fugly warbanner-wings back!! that the biggest reason i, personally, never played him. So here a some things which are not even subjective, but point out why we don't need them back:

  • you cant fly with such wings
  • they looked edgy and unsettled
  • they will not fit with his hole new model and "wear my awesome sword on my back" thing. and wearing his sword his back looks BADASS!
  • he still have - even better wings - during his ultimate
  • a true warriot cant fight with such things on this back
  • it doesnt go in line with Rhaast and Va(a)rus

Please, Riot, you did the right thing with his visuals. Do not destroy it.

He wouldn't need to fly with them,they'd be his wings while he doesn't use his ult,so you could think of them as incomplete wings that get completed during his ult. Meanwhile the ult would still use his current wings.

Aatrox himself looks extremely edgy anyway(because he is a sword) and they look like war banners,thus emphasizing the whole war thematic of Aatrox.

I think that is why they aren't added immediatly,they have to figure out a way to make this work.

Neither do his current wings,or the purple skin of Varus,or the completely armored face of Rhaast. The darkin have huge differences in appearances anyway. Not to mention that the banner wings existed before Rhaast or before Varus was retconned into a darkin,so if anything they don't fit the banner wings,not the other way around.

This is actually something I noticed when the dark red colors were added to his model - in the turnaround on Surrender@20, I noticed that the wing-spikes were actually more like hooks to hold his greatsword on his back. It's something subtle that, sadly, goes unappreciated in favor of old iconic things.

It kind of puts me in an odd position, because on one hand, the banner-wings do fit Aatrox's thematic and are iconic to his character from pre-GPU, but, at the same time, it seems like it'd be hard to work in with his sword-bearing spikes that, on their own right, are pretty clever design.

Personally I hope Riot makes them "tooglable", so players that want his banners back get them while non-banner players can play without them. Kai'sa can toogle her helmet and Zoe can toogle her walk animations. So I think Riot would (they should imo) make Aatrox's banners a toogle feature.
