What are your thoughts on this "skins launch live" Riot is trying?

So unfortunately I can't find where the quote was but a Rioter talked about why Beemo is getting released to live Wednesday as a way of experimenting on whether or not Riot should try and do this more often. Again, I can't recall where I read this so for all I know I could of daydreamed it...somehow.

But even if this wasn't a experiment of Riot, how to you guys feel about skins just getting revealed and launching with the next patch? Me, personally, I'm kind of in the no option. As much as I would like to have skins just pop up and get ready before an update, I'd rather prefer see what skins will be coming around after the current PBE cycle hits live so we start a new one, test them out and give feedback on tweaks and changes.

Again that's just me but what about you guys?

No. Gives players no time to give feedback on problems with skins

Pro for players:

  • Less time waiting for a skin after it's announcement.

Con:

  • No chance for players to give feedback & improve the skins before they go on sale. If they start doing this, it's kind of like saying, "Screw you guys. The skin is perfect & we don't need player feedback. Now fucking buy it." I know that's not their intention here..........for the most part. But it's very easy for one to see that as the implication here. Sometimes the skin is perfectly fine as is & don't need much changes. But there will be times, skins need to be improve upon. I highly doubt they will adjust it too much while it's live. "But Jeddy, even if we give feedback for a skin, Riot don't change it or change it enough." You got me there buddy. There has been PLENTY of times where that happened. I've been on these Boards long enough to see it.
  • BUGS. Remember Beekeeper Singed? A skin that was delayed for a good amount of time, even after it had it's PBE testing, because of some bug or something.

Eh, I don't know how to feel about this. Doesn't help that the 1st champ they tried this with is Teemo, a champ I don't play (And even if I did, I would get Omega Squad or Satan over this). I'm just going to wait & see how this pans out. See how the skins turn out if they do this more in the future. And read some Rioter comments on the matter to get a better understanding of their thought process behind this.

If it is a skin (ward skin, emote, chromas or icon) for some specific event, I could get the thought behind it. Otherwise, no. The skins this year have been pretty lacklusting so far and Riot needs the feedback to make them alright. Honest, I'm not happy with the skin releases and direction of this year at all.

I don't think they should do this more, but with a long-awaited meme skin like Beemo it's perfectly acceptable.

I like it a lot and hope they do more. I like the surprise and the quality so far. The only thing I am worried about it is if there is a problem with the skin is if the community has a problem with it. It doesn't really mean anything though. Riot hardly does anything for the skins on PBE. Look at Bloormoon Eve and enough said.
