Some theories and plot holes regarding the SG skins.
This may be a longer post so bear with me. The newest "teaser" showed Ahri holding 3 broken gems: Yellow, Blue and Green.
We then received the skin line for this year: Zoe, Xayah, Rakan, and Neeko. But some things don't seem to quite add up.

Xayah holds the blue gemstone, and Rakan holds the green gemstone.

Questions: If Ahri is holding the yellow, green and blue gems:
- Why is Neeko not a fallen star?
- How does Rakan give his gem to Xayah during their recalls?
- Who is the yellow fallen star, if neeko is alive?
- Why is Zoe the only one to not transform back to the 'original' outfit during her recall? (Theory 1)

But its a theory that Syndra will stop at nothing for her own power, and fed the souls of the fallen star guardians to her familiar.
In her bio: "Feared and admired, Syndra is a formidable Star Guardian from an earlier era." and "Despite Ahri’s trust in her, some members have questioned the veteran’s true motives and suspect there is no price that Syndra won’t pay to achieve her personal goals."
She also shares the same gemstone as Zoe, similar headpiece, same demonic eye. Its possible Syndra has Zoes gemstone which is why she can't transform back to her former self during the recall. Syndra also has the familiar called multi. " a triple manifestation, who all display emotion"
Though riot has made it unclear as to why Neeko is not corrupted.
Theory 2
Zoe is the corrupted SG from an earlier era, and is seeking her team back. She has corrupted Xayah and Rakan and stolen neeko from Ahri.
SG teams consist of 5 members, and Ahri and MF being the only original two, it would hold reason as to why Xayah, Rakan, and Nekko are there. (but the yellow gemstone is new to the series, previously it was Pink, Purple, Blue, Green and Red gemstones.)
Green (Rakan) would be replaced by Soraka. Blue (Xayah) replaced by Ezreal, and Yellow (Neeko) replaced by Syndra (Purple)
I also have questions why a fallen star theme was chosen, instead of the traditional SG theme we've waited two years for.
