Will a "Demo" Feature for Skins/Champs ruin the purpose of buying them?

Both HotS and Dota 2 have this system and I personally think that League has the tech and ability to implement this sort of tech. This would be also a better way to test things on live servers (and PBE to some extent), especially for quick testing. The current system is obviously working, but for people who want to do a quick test on the skin (ex: does PROJECT: Ashe's AA animation actually help CSing?) or just check it out in general before buying the skin (My first game with PROJECT: Yi was kind of bad because I wasn't used to the AA animation, and no, I didn't have time to go to practice mode and practice CSing). Consumer's psychology also kicks in here too: some people will probably think, "Well, if you can try out the skin on a demo mode, why bother to buy the skin?" Well, owning something and borrowing something are two very different things (at least in my opinion; I would rather buy books on Amazon than go to a library and hope that the book I am looking for is there). What is Riot's opinion about this (in all of the different POV's: business perspective, dev perspective, etc.)? What about players?

Well, they already have a demo feature for skins/champions in the way of shards.

And as far as viewing skins, there a plenty of ways to view the skins' model and abilities online. If the developers/artists did their job, skin should have little to no effect on the gameplay and even if it does, you can easily learn to play with them.
