The Brilliance of Lucian's Design. [and some theories]
So as many of you all know the new High Noon skin line has been revealed starring Thresh, Lucian and Urgot. but the main focus being Lucian, https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DkkN5v_XgAEGfRz.jpg who in this new skin sports a brand new demonic look as the shadow that grins, A person who is both Human and Devil.
Many questions have been asked about Lucian's new skin but the one that sparked my interest was one from a thread called "What is up with Lucian's left arm?". In the thread a summoner by the name of xJayMack asks what is up with Lucian's demonic side (spoilers: he drank the blood of a devil.) which brought me to this, the brilliance of Lucian's duality design.
Lucian. is. Great, in terms of design, and does something very important for the game, Lucian's design shows off a part story, something very important. Lucian will always carry Senna with him. more importantly he does so in his Project skin and his High Noon skin.
now, for those unfamiliar, Lucian's story goes as followed. Lucian and his wife Senna fought against dark creatures with Lucian's love and Senna's devotion leading to the two of them being a great force against darkness, time passed and the two of them found themselves on the shadow isles where Senna's soul was stolen by the hands of Thresh which caused Lucian lose himself in anger, picking up Senna's weapon, Lucian set out to destroy all darkness and hunt down Thresh. From this point onward Lucian became cold blooded and gained an absolute hatred for anything dark. this is represented in Lucian's appearance through his twin gun's and a dark patch of clothing which we can only assume used to belong to Senna and wasn't already part of Lucian's clothing, a detail that actually carries over to his other skins.
Project Lucian. In the Project skin line many champions had their humanity stripped away, once Lucian had seen the Project for what it really was, he turned his back to them and rebelled. In his skin, Lucian is fully augmented save for his right arm, this is to represent his remaining humanity. The implication of which is quite easy to see, Lucian's Memory of Senna being what is left of his humanity, the thing that keeps him from becoming heartless.
High Noon Lucian. In the High Noon skin line, it seems like Lucian's fate has repeated itself, losing Senna to the Devil Thresh, Lucian resorted to drinking the blood of a devil to transform himself, turning his left arm demonic, along with part of his face. This seems represents Lucian's anger and devotion. being willing to sacrifice his very soul to avenge the person he loved and lost. another great detail in this skin is his ultimate. When lucian ults, as per usual he'll let out a scream and now with the new skin, he'll fully transform into a demon, which shows something else. That lucian's rage can cause his to lose his humanity and turn into the very thing he hunts.
These two skins are great at showing off the duality of Lucian and tell a story about his very being as a whole, and quite a sad one at that. When Lucian lost Senna, he lost his compassion, his love even as Lucian states himself " they took my kindness and my mercy", Lucian is slowly being corrupted by his quest for vengeance and as shown by both the Project skin and High Noon skin, there is only little of his humanity left and his corruption is quick to get the better of him. He became rash, resentful, full of hate. And the sad thing is, if he continues the way he does. All that he will be, is another soul added to the shadow isles, as the island will claim him as another spirit of vengeance. Lucian's story is tragic, He lost the love of his life and instead of grieving her and overcoming his lose, he chose to hate and put himself on a path that will only lead to his own destruction fueled by his desire for vengeance and his memories of Senna. If he loses his left gun, as to say his humanity, his memories of the one he loved. He'd become a monster just as great as the threads of the shadow isles, resembling a person but completely devoided of his humanity. If he loses his right gun, as to say his rage, he'd grief his lose, possibly blaming himself for the events that led to Senna's death, being unable to continue functioning.
I think the only way for Lucian to move on, is to cast away both guns, taking a step back move on from senna, keep her close to his heart but forgive himself for what happened. Seek help in others, trust, others again. and once he picked himself up again, he could find a better way. Thresh should pay for what he did and Senna's soul should be freed but the way Lucian is doing things now wont make that happen, he needs help.
anyways those are just my thoughts and crazy theories, tell me what you think about Lucian's design and share any theories you may have about Lucian bellow and thank you for reading.
was trying to help Lucian understand the perils of losing oneself in vengeance during the last Harrowing event. I don't think the solution is to stop fighting though.

had to have the lore changed for being too one dimensional, while
