Like just to begin with, you made the circle jerk of hatred for him cannon. Like you should feel fucking ashamed to actually do that to a character. As a writer I feel embarrassed for you.

Instead of a skilled swordsman who was a once in a generation master of the wind sword, you made him a child and a total loser at that. You killed off the "last master" of the wind technique because yeah it makes sense that a master dies so easily. You skipped around his story and gave him nothing in terms of good lore or any interest in terms of expanding his lore. Whoever did this writing needs to seriously never write again. I'm so totally disappointed in you.

I imagine his lore as that he was arrogant, disrespectful and reckless as a youth. However, he is a naturally gifted swordsman and the only child capable of learning the legendary wind technique. It shows that he was greatly humiliated... and then humbled in the end.

The definition of humility is straightforward. It is a way of behaving that shows that you don’t think you are better or more important than other people. Eventually, Yasuo learns what humility really is and passes his maple seed on to Tali for her to learn.

It would go like "Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it's thinking of yourself less." This would fit into why he gives Riven some words of wisdom when he says "You can't run from yourself, Riven... I've tried" His lore reminds me a lot of samurai films.. specifically Rashomon and Harakiri.

And for him being a bastard child and total loser while growing into a wise man who masters bushido code is really good lore.

He's still the same old extremely skilled and elite masterful swordsman that he was in his old lore. If anything, I think the retconned details of him being an outcast bastard child further contributes to his tragic narrative.

Would have made more sense for Riven's blade to have been destroyed by the master during their duel. I feel like a lot of the Ionian stories were rushed and reek of high school fanfiction. It's weird because the lore team had been doing a fantastic job prior to this.

You know his master being dead makes kinda sense,otherwise there'd be no reason to only suspect Yasuo,when another wind sword user exists as well.
