Twilight of Gods - The Darkins

“Twilight of Gods” so conisdering the latest story there should be 7 or 6 Darkins - Aatrox, Rhaast, Varus, Nasus, Renekton, Azir, Xerath(not sure he is darkin(god-warrior) because it was said he became pure Arcane Energy) So there should be basically 6 Alive Darkins - Riot said there are 5 remaining Darkins one of them being Aatrox if i can call correctly. But I think Riot with the new story completely changed what the Darkins are.

This led me to the 2nd question: Why they are somehow different in vision: Aatrox, Rhaast and Varus being visually different than the others ( Nasus, Azir, Renekton ) I mean are they trapped or not in their weapons, is Azir the staff, Nasus the axe and Renekton the axe-thing. Or they are difficult somehow ?

Have you read all the new stories? ( twilight of the gods for example..) Nasus renekton and azir are ascended not darkin... Darkin used to be ascended that got ''thrice-cursed—once by the ancient enemy they faced, again by the fall of their glorious empire, and finally by the betrayal that has damned them for all eternity.''

Ancient enemy : the void Fall of the empire : azirs death Betrayal : targon ( and more specificaly the aspect of twilight) helping mortals imprison them..

Nasus,Renekton,Azir and Xerath aren't darkin,they are ascended.

The darkin used to be ascended,but they used flesh magic to change their shape and were ultimately sealed within the weapons.

So while the term was used to describe evil ascended in the past(which likely would have included Xerath and Renekton if they had been free at the time),it is now used to describe those who are trapped inside weapons,which does not apply to any of these 4.

That being said, I don't think there is any mention of the whole "only 5 darkin remain"-thing in the new lore,so it is possible that we'd get more than 5.
