Who exactly are the targonian aspects? Were they an ancient civilization that ascended and became gods that live in space/other cosmic dimension "above" targon? Were they the ones who imprisoned aurelion? Why do they send themselves into mortal bodies and what is their goal? - they seem to want to fight the void and also destroy the darkin, could they each have their own motivations? What caused the targonians who imprisoned aurelion to fall into disarray and subsequently lose their control over him? In Aatrox's story he says he was shaped by the stars and the purity of his aspect, does that mean the the shuriman ascended also have the power of aspects? Does that mean that the shuriman ascended are also aspects but perhaps the void has warped their minds?

They seem more ancient and more powerful than the shuriman ascended. The shuriman ascension process relies on the sun, the moon can seemingly unmake them but the targonian aspects seem quite fine with either power, perhaps their ascension was more perfect than that used by the shurimans? (also evidenced by shuriman ascended only living for thousands of years and also being unable to heal every wound and also being able to die)

Another thing thats odd is that "aspect magic" (used by the main ascended in the new story provided to him by the aspect of twilight) undoes the bonds which bind the god-power to the mortal body of the shuriman aspects, why is that?

runes and void

The story also references the scholar. Is that ryze? Why would the aspect of change be in contact with ryze? Could it have something to do with runes?

Could either the targonian and or shuriman ascension process be caused by runes? Imo it would really bring everything full circle if all of this was brought about by runes. If that were so then the only thing left unanswered would be the origin of the void (according to aurel it was created at the beginning of time along with the universe, the icathians used rune magic to unleash it on runeterra though it has appeared elsewhere since and we havent been told for sure if the icathian event was the first void rift to exist on the planet. we still lack understanding about who the watchers are and whether they have ruled the void since it began or if they gained dominion over it at some later time and also what their motivations and end game are).

Also, how do ornn and his siblings fit into this? His bio says they are demigods but they seem far more powerful than the shuriman ascended.
