Can someone explain to me why Riven would want to go back to Noxus?

People keep talking like they think she's gonna pull a Robin Hood and go home and stick it to the corrupt government. But nothing about her lore or stories gives me that impression. Her family is dead - given that she's an orphan raised by the state - and the military traumatized her when they sent her to annihilate innocent people. She's only ever expressed a desire to die of guilt for her crimes and find a loving family that she can care for and that will care for her. She's never expressed a need or desire to fight corruption in a land she doesn't consider her home anymore.

So why would she want to go back to Noxus? Is she not allowed to cut her ties and settle down in Ionia and be happy? Why do people think she would have this intense urge that will eventually lead her back to Noxus, when she's never really been happy there?

I'd rather see her heal up psychologically for a few years and then set off with her blade wandering for atonement for some reason. Maybe she serves her sentance and wants to see the world for more perspective, maybe bandits come and kill the town and she wasn't able to do anything because she had forsaken her training, maybe there's another push by noxus into ionia... there could be any number of reasons. 'Redeemed Riven' isn't a skin without a sword or armor though, there's at least the implication that she will pick up her blade again once she has overcome her past.

Well, I actually believe that apart from Zed's people, the people of Ionia are really broad-minded, spiritually and emotionally. Enabling her to actually find "peace" and "unbreak herself" in that field, with Yasuo watching her path so as to find one himself.

Leading her to completely free herself of her Noxian past and eventually truly becoming a champion of Ionia.

I don't think she could ever settle down and live quiet life in Ionia, she would be forever plagued by her past. I think she'd find redemption fighting the corruption in Noxus and doing good for the world.

I don't see that either, all i see is Riven wanting to live a peaceful life with that old couple who considers her part of their family, a "daughter", while she fulfills her punishment Right now Riven is still healing her wounds, maybe laaaaater she wants to go back and change things, who knows, but not alone

I hope she finds peace in Ionia then maybe she will find peace and stop feeding in the Rift as well.
