As a Diana player it makes me furious to see The Coven and the Eclipse.

This Leona skin was such a missed opportunity to make a Leona vs Diana event similar to the Yasuo vs Riven event (Dawnbringer Riven, Nightbringer Yasuo). It really let me down that Riot seriously does not care about old champions at all. Take and as a perfect example. We have been waiting for what feels like forever now for visual and voice updates on old champions. Its 2018, I'm pretty sure we have the technology to do it.

One could say this yes, but there are 2 reasons they did not go this route. Firstly, they don't want to make Diana and Leona strongly coupled because that's already been done with Rakan and Xayah, meaning they share everything. Secondly, Kayle and Morgana are getting a VGU relatively soon so they don't want people to think Leona and Diana are the same as Kayle and Morgana.

It was a poor choice of theme on their part, because Eclipse Diana would have been sweet. Diana also got a skin last year so that would its overload for a mid-tier champ to get 2 skins in 2 years.

Yeah, it's absolutely ludicrous imo. I absolutely loathe the idea of one champion getting two skins that are almost identical to one another and being charged an extortionate amount for what is essentially a chroma. Riot's greed is honestly starting to become off-settling and it started with those Lancer Blitzcrank skins and has only gotten worse with the Pyjama guardian skins (it took a disgusting amount of negative feedback for Riot to actually lower the price of those ugly chroma skins to something reasonable if you already owned the main series skin for that respective champion) and now two Eclipse skins for one champion. It is especially upsetting in this case since, as you said, Diana is the perfect candidate for the second skin and there honestly feels like no legitimate reason to not give one of those skins to Diana.

The assumption is Diana is one of their rework projects that is coming in the near future, and giving the old Diana an event and then reworking her a few months later doesn't seem smart.

As a Leona player it makes me furious to see greedy Diana player like you. Diana got 1350 RP skins every year, but Leona did not get skin for two years.

You do realize that Leona is older than Diana? And as it's already been said, Kayle is getting a VGU and Morgana a VU.

As a Diana player, it makes me hopeful. Hopeful that when they touch up on Diana we might get similar skins in the eclipse line. I'd LOVE a Solari style Diana, the same way Lunar Eclipse Leona is basically Diana's color scheme. Giving Diana Leona's golden armor and such, showing her Solari roots. Yes please.
