So some parts of Ionia use Towers of Silence?
That's a pretty interesting revelation.
Do they use them for the same reason Zoroastrians do?
Out of a belief that the elements are holy and thus not to be defiled? Or is there some other basis to it?

(The extent of my knowledge was a quick google search)
Yeah sky burials is an odd practice to hint towards. Although on some level it makes sense, Ionia being such a spiritual and sacred place, you could easily comprehend how certain religious beliefs would assume decomposition would taint their precious land. Although why would it be taboo for only a human body to taint the ground and not the animals that inhabit the lands too? Talking about both the IRL practice and the same that's hinted at in lore.
I guess regardless its difficult to make much of any assumption, since there's not enough to understand what the full connotations of 'bones being cleaned by the sky' and what that really means in Ionia. Hopefully there's more on it to come with the rest of the story.
As a western thinker its a bit freaky to learn that certain societies (used to) leave their deceased out to decay in such an open environment.
