Salty with the Art team: Why Varus not even once?

Disclaimer: While this might look like one, this isn't simply a thread to request the presence of X champion in the Art media (videos and such) but rather a general question to the Art team.

So, with the latest animation videos we had our share of champions to be shown that either dictated the meta seen in the LCS and at worlds (even with some "wild cards" like Tryndamere mostly because of his connection to Aatrox or the taste of the player involved in the video maybe), and once again we see Jinx.

It's Jinx everybody! IT'S ALWAYS JINX... We have this kind of characters that oversaturate their presence in the off-game, be it Missfortune and Bilgewater for the narrative and be it Jinx for videos and such.

The reason to justify this is: "but X is popular", "X is defining the meta", "X has seen a lot of play".... Well then where the heck is Varus in this media format then? I'm sure that he has been rather meta defining since the season begin far more than Jinx or Lucian and to be honest, if you can fit even tryndamere in that I don't see why there is never a chance for the Ascended like Azir or Xerath to pop out or even Aurelion Sol that has been a pretty strong poket pick before all the "Muh Assassin and Irelia mid!" stravaganza or Jayce & Viktor (I'd even take Xayah and Rakan just for the sake of new).

Is the Art team so much fixated on certain champions that they will simply ignore a lot of them?

But hey! Who am I to express negative feelings about something that does little sense to me when the official responses are: "We try to give shared visibility". I've downvoted myself so this trash of an opinion/thread/OP has the less visbility possible with 0 upvotes. In the end it's all about you having the same tastes of the Art team or gtfo. Might aswell be forever banned from the boards because I will not quit making threads about favoritism if we get to see it in almost anything new in the game. cya bb gl.

There is a whole video about Varus, with music and at least 2 comics... that is more than "even once"

It's called building a brand

I thought MOBAs were dumb before I started playing in December 2017

All the way back to 2015 Ryze, Ezreal, Jinx, Ahri, MF, Lee Sin, Ashe, Vi, Leona and Teemo were immediately recognizable for me as from League of Legends even though I didn't know their names and had no intention of playing the game until I started reading the Universe and decided to give it a try. Equal representation of all 141 champions out of some misguided sense of equality IS STUPID from a marketing perspective. I will never understand this complaint, skin favoritism I understand popular champions get more skins then less popular champs which is something Riot has tried to remedy by specifically setting out skins for champs who haven't been getting any this year even though they know they will make less money from them. But to be upset because your favorite champion is missing from marketing materials is beyond me. Why do you care, that's not for you it's to draw new players to the game. It has no bearing on how you as an active League player play the game and wanting to see your champion "appreciated" in some non substantial way makes me feel weird for some reason. Like people in the community are channeling some middle child trauma through their League champs who are also being "ignored" lol.

Dude if you like Varus the best thing you can do is to continue playing Varus solely because you enjoy playing him. He isn't part of the brand recognition for League and likely never will. It's the kind of thing that has to catch fire. Jinxs' music video is largely why she is so popular. As a work of art and music it stood apart from the game and got a lot of outside attention. To these outsiders Jinx became synonymous to this weird League of Legends thing. Now Riot can use that connection to market the game to them. It isn't a personal attack against the other champs in League it would just be illogical to try to make Ivern synonymous with League and use him to market the game. Jinx already has that why not use it??

And yeah I chose to not refute your argument by making the obvious point that Varus is the only other champion to have an original music video based on his lore which kinda debunks your whole thread. I won't make that argument because champion favoritism in brand recogniton/advertising isn't a problem to begin with no matter who the champion in question is.
