Champions death in lore

So I was wondering, why when most of us read lore don't feel as excited. Why do we feel after we have finished a champion lore that the story is ended and nothing to expect (at least That's what I feel). And I think I found the answer.

It's not just about champions death as you read in the title. but it might be that because we don't see events happening. we don't see for example " Noxus is a preparing for an invasion " or " A new Hextech weapon is created" which can really make people excited to what happens next. Lets say for example "Noxus Invaded Demacia" "Demacia lost the war" "Draven is missing". This can be really good as it will make people excited to see what happens next. I don't think champions death is good for lore as that champion will probably never have his lore updated and almost forgotten, but it can be good to give those who read lore more "worried" feelings towards what is happening and not just saying "Ah at the best cases, this will be a hint for a new champion".

When you think of it, at this rate even if we someday knew what is in the scroll Ryze have, It will probably never affect any Pilotvan / Zaunite champion at all which is kinda "Meh" for them. so I think champions death should be there but is a rare occasions. for example, in an a war between two nations, A champion die from the two nations.

There is also another thing that can happen to champions which is about the opposite to their death. instead of some champions death, maybe some of them will ascend ( Maybe shuriman champions ) or Augmented (Mostly Piltover). The point is that some champions become stronger. for example, "Vi's body is now fully powered by Hextech power".

Anyway guys I just wanted to share my ideas even though some of them are weird or bad. And I always trust riot for delivering the good content.

Overall champion death should happen eventually, otherwise it'll destroy any kind of tension,if you know that all champions have plot armor.

However, champion deaths should only happen very late into the lore of the champion. If Demacia and Noxus went to war now and Draven would get killed just like that, then that would be a huge waste of a character.

But if we see Draven fullfilling his goals and dreams and then have him die, when most of his plot points were already resolved and he dies in a manner that actually progresses the plot, then I don't think they should hesitate to kill him.

And even after his death, they can still bring us stories about him that happened before his death.

I feel the bigger problem is that everything we're seeing so far is set-up.

Compare Burning Tides and the Harrowing to, say, For Demacia or Bloodline.

In Burning Tides, Graves and TF finally confront each other. MF blows Gangplank up. Plotlines resolve and new questions get raised. In the Harrowing, Lucian confronts Thresh and learns that his wife's soul is trapped in the Chain Warden's lantern, which pushes him away from the pure vegeance angle he had before (it was sort of implied before this that he knew Thresh had her soul, but w/e, it's a pretty harmless retcon). We see the extent of Illaoi's power for the first time (this was before we even knew she'd be a champion) and MF decides she needs to run the city.

Things happened in these stories. More to the point, they were things that would last and impact them further into the future, as good character development should! This is why people look back on Burning Tides so fondly, it was one of the first major changes to the status quo post-retcon.

For Demacia... we get a better insight into both Garen and Lux as characters, and while I did enjoy it, what really changed about Garen or Lux from that story? Nothing. It's just 'this thing that happened to them once'.

Bloodline spends most of its runtime talking about things we already knew. We knew Taliyah was selfless and going to Shurima's capital in search of her family (in fact this story came out AFTER her color story, so we knew she'd make it regardless). We already knew that Renekton had been driven mad, that Nasus would try to save his brother, that Sivir's blood was important. We knew Azir had freed Xerath as his last act as a mortal man, and that Xerath betrayed him anyway. What new information did we get out of this story?

Character backstory and development is all about events that affect them well into the future. If nothing's changing, then what's the point?

They did that when they "killed" Gangplank during the Bilgewater event and most people complained.

If they decide to kill anyone, the better option would be MissFortune .

I don't say thie because I dislike the character. In fact, I love it, and seeing her die in lore would be the last thing I wish. But we all know Riot story team is preparing Gangplank return. And with a guy as ruthless and smart as him, and with an amount of hate that can only be fueled by something as big as seeing your live completly destroyed directed to her, I don't see how his return can go anything but horribly awful to MissFortune .

Either she dies, or ends amputee, or something else, but we all know is it going to be awful. Hell, maybe they do like with Gangplank , and they use her death for a VGU of her. But we all know she isn't going to get out unscathed of this.
