Is to make his weapon Half Bow, Half Beast like. Such a change would allow the following...

  • Allow the Beast like Bow to make Growling/Roaring noises when applying or detonating Blight Stacks or even when Killing something when his Passive Triggers.
  • Allowing his Critical Strike Animations to be like the Beast like Bow to have this sort of Bite animation with each Basic Attack that Crits.

Heck I mean his bow's current shape and visual already is something like this, so making this change would be really cool in my opinion.

I feel like the head on the bow wouldnt look as good but Ive been thinking of this too. The Darkin have a certain organ on their weapon to make it actually look alive and not like a normal weapon because the Darkins are the weapons. Varus obviously was pushed into a Darkin but wasnt updated to actually show that hes a Darkin and not some other demon type creature. What I think Riot could do is update Varus give him the red skin and bony black armor on him (Which would go where the purple stuff is on his hands and legs), turn his crown on his head to a actual headpiece like Aatrox's just not as big and staying true to the original. Then for his weapon redesign it to fit the Darkin appearance with the red and black but I think he should get a lung on his bow. I feel like it would make sense since to aim the bow accurately you have to hold your breath and the Darkin all use important organs with the heart and eye.

But ain't Varus like Kayn Didn't he "defeat" the darkin and that's why isn't all red like rhaast and aatrox? And that's why he is more normal looking, like shadow kayn

Maybe if the jewel on his forehead became an eye. As if it were the demon looking down the sights of it's own weapon.

What was Varus ascended animal appearence before he became a Darkin? Like, was that information ever released anywhere?

They will probably do something to him the day that he needs a small VGU or even Full large scale VGU to make him have more similarities to the other darkin, but since he was just a "rewritten lore character" for now, that's not happening any time soon.

Giving it a face like in that picture goes too far in my opnion. A bow with a real, living face on it is just... weird....

I would just add a little detail, like teeth sticking out here and there. The other 2 weapons also have not a complete structure like a face or arm, just a heart and a single eye. So I would stick to something that isn't directly screaming in your face "I WAS A DUDE ONCE AND NOW I AM A WEAPON!" (literally...).
