2019 Lore Tournament - Day 3: The Recruit vs Trouble

EDIT: Voting is finished for today, The Recruit wins with 27 to 25 votes. #####~~ The journey continues~~

Once again, we see a head-to-head race. On the one hand, this shows that I did not totally fail with selecting the candidates for each day, (we should not have The Dreaming Pool or Art is Life totally stomping their enemy) but I really did not expect them all to be this close. I actually had to delay this post so the other thread could be decided. It still stands at 21 to 21, if you didn't vote in this one, do so now. (EDIT: It's decided, The WinterSpike Road wins) https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/365550473429909504/648237903100510229/WT7mmUN.png

#####What would you do with a spark of magic?

Today, we focus on two different uses of magic in the respective color stories of Sylas and Annie. In the first story, a young Recruit is introduced to Sylas' rebels. He then learns of one of the more gruesome applications of his magic. But everything for the kingdom, am I right? In the second story, a young girl just wants some milk... then Trouble ensues. And in the wilderness close to Noxus, there is one more burnt tavern. If you want to live, you better not pull the bear. https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/365550473429909504/648237903100510229/WT7mmUN.png

Trouble is nice as it's showing how Annie acts after the events of her animated origin story but that's kinda it. Recruit though... It shows how much of a motherfucker he actually is, because overall he's shown in a sympathetic light. The manipulation and the sadistic enjoyment he gets... Wtf Sylas

Voting for Recruit so that the left side may emerge victorious in all cases. All hail the left.

Gotta give it to the Annie story personally, I think it was a nice change of pace to see her get a lore development that actually shows how she is in her life unlike so many "Here is X fighting against Y" or here is someone doing one specific thing that doesn't really give them much character development

While I do like the Sylas story I feel like the newer one is better portrayal of Sylas than The Recruit

So many close calls, these stories are just all so lovely! Trouble has my vote because I love stories that show us what an individual champion is up to by themselves. I loved seeing how Annie reacts to others and others to her. Would love to see more champion stories that tell us their every day lives and what they personally plot.

I'll go with Trouble on that one! Because honestly duck Sylas...

Seriously tho, I do think both stories are nice, and do their jobs as color stories. I just really like Annie's because... ARSON!
