What happened to all the flavour text?

I really liked the old flavour texts on legendary items. Examples like:

"Warning: do not thaw!" "A snake without fangs is like a man at wit's end" "It'll protect you for a time, but when It grows tired of you, who will protect you from it?"

What happened to those? I was just checking out the item lists and couldn't find them anymore. Anyone know the reasoning behind getting rid of them? Just hard to maintain thematically?
