Its a pretty common concept in stories where longer living races are slower to mature. I see nothing original or new about it really.

It happens in other media too. Nowi in Fire Emblem Awakening is over 1000 years old, and Fae in Fire Emblem Binding Blade is about 800 I believe. But they both look and act like kids.

I think Ive been reading too much Tales of Demons and Gods, Volcanic Age, The Scholar's Reincarnation, Soul Land.

They are manga where like say Volcanic Age the protagonist is an old man who finally passed after a life regretting many things he wishes could been different. He wakes up as a child again and does everything he couldn't in his old life

If you haven't read any of these titles do pick it up lol [slayer-jinx-wink]

What's their lifespan like?

From literature, I've read tales of beings who are hundreds of years old still considered children by their race because they're so long-lived.

Also, when you age to a certain point, do you really want to act like Dumbledore or Gandalf your entire life? I don't know about you, but I'd like crack at some point and act like a immature brat for a couple decades to balance it out.
