We need more stories from the perspective of ordinary people in Runeterra.

If there's one thing that truly makes me appreciate how awesome a character is it's when they're juxtaposed to a regular Joe.

And, while I'm regular Joe, I don't live on Runeterra and, as such, I'm unfamiliar with the day-to-day events that are caused by/involve these 'Legends'.

So, from the perspective of a gamer, the greatness of these champions are pretty standard in that universe. I feel like I could more appreciate the epicness of the characters if I can see what they mean to regular people.

Are some of them too dangerous in the public's eye? Are some the only reason their lives are even held together? Would the general public be better off without them? Do they solves problems that a normal person couldn't? Does that cause laziness and dependence? Do they create more problems than they're worth? Does that cause the public to see them all in the same light? Ex.: "How long before Garen becomes the next Darius?"

Making champions as awesome and amazing as you can doesn't amount to much when people only view that level of greatness as the standard.

Quite a few are told from the perspective of rather ordinary folk. Rek'Sai's entire teaser was told from the perspective of a Noxian surveyor. Tea with the Gray Lady is told from the perspective of a thug. The same applies to Urgot's story. The Vastayan Field Journal is, I feel, a good example of how mundane humans perceive the Vastaya. If you wanted to go outside the literary medium, Warwick, Rek'Sai, and Kalista's teasers do a wonderful job of portraying just how terrifying these champions can be.

I think this is a good idea but...at the same time, a lot of champs are just regular or above-average people.

There's nothing inherently special about Caitlyn. She's good at her job. She's got good aim. But she's not the best markswoman who ever lived or the greatest cop in the history of Runeterra. (Well, not in her new lore). It's hard to juxtapose some of these characters because they're really just people good at what they do.

A tale from the Zaun market place.

"Hey, what happened to Waltz? Didn't he use to serve here." 'Poor bastard. He ran a foul with that purple menace of a doctor.' "What about his brother?" 'Mauled by a werewolf.' "And their boss?" 'Big cyborg spider guy put him through a meat grinder.' "Is their house for sale then?" 'Blown up by a crazy lady talking to her guns.' "Shame that. It was a good place. Take care then." 'And you. Stay out of the smog now.'

Personally I would go a step further. I want a hero to be a normal type guy. I’ve proposed a few times I would love a champion who was a Demacian infantryman. Not a glorious warrior-knight, not a secret mage, not a prince. I want a common conscript to see how the other half lives.

He can go through a hero arc, sure. But start him out unimportant. Let’s watch the guy earn the status of legend.

Half of all the lore is from the civilian's perspective already. Yet OP's thread pretends like that's not being represented enough and receives tons of support as if the community is in agreement... what is this weird hypocrisy?
