A few thoughts on Neeko from a first impression

1: I'm glad to see Nidalee finally getting some lore interaction. She's been lore-isolated for almost a decade now.

2: I would've preferred them going full-lizard, but this isn't horrible. It's a solid 8/10 design. I get some really strong Zoe vibes from her though. In fact, she feels like a blend of Gnar and Zoe to me.

3: The idea of being the last of your kind has already been done by both Fizz and Alistar, so I can't give points for originality. Fairly mediocre lore.

Things is that Neeko being the last of her kind is a part of her but doesn't define her character as much. You don't see her being like "I am the only of my kind", if anything, I was surprised as how her VO show her curiosity, joviality and total queer side.

Agreed. I was expecting more information about the jungle area and Zyra. At least, we got something about Nida xD

But is her kind really gone ? Seems like they got sent somewhere since she was able to call out to them and been getting images from them. Although, with her spiritual powers, she may just be contacting the dead from whatever spirit realm or realm of the dead.

Okay, but... I don't know why everyone is comparing her to Zoe that much. -Zoe is a "by the book" Disney character. Neeko could fit in a Disney universe, but not as much. -Zoe is designed to be a loud, annoying, stereotypical teenage girl that does and says young girl things. Neeko is nothing like that. -Gameplay wise, Zoe isn't just annoying. She's rage-inducing. I can see Neko being more or less annoying (we'll see) but that level of toxicity is a realm that belongs entirely to Queen Zoe and King Pyke. To me, they feel nothing alike. Zoe is obnoxious and Neeko is funny.

The only thing they have in common is that they both look younger than 20 and are colorful.

Are Fizz and Alistar the last of their kind in the new lore? Alistar didn't get his new lore as far as I know but I swear Fizz isn't the last of his people anymore hes just a trickster so he stays in Bilgewater to have fun?

I don't think her backstory is the important part of her character

She's very simpleminded with a pretty basic grasp at language. she's very direct and kind of childlike.

And not to create an entire shitstorm about sexuality but I like her, but I wish they'd chill a bit. Varus was a character who was done to subtle in terms of sexuality, unless you read the comics you'd have no idea about it. Neeko is the opposite, nearly any character interaction will make it clear how she feels about them in terms of sexuality to the point where it somewhat flushes out the rest of her personality, per example even just meeting another vastayan will be met with her asking them about this girl she likes. it's an odd balance but not necessarily that bad if anything it's a step in the right direction for Riot to make a really good gay character.
