We know they're shipped together, a lot. In lore and out, but I'm not sure if they ever had an actual relationship. Several new champions have commented on these two, which implies they're tragically in love. In Garen's (old) lore, it seems like he wants to fight her as much as he wants to love her. It appears that they want to be with each other, but do they still desire to kill one another?

There is nothing romantic in the lore, and Garen sees her as comrade if not sister, Garen always wanted a sister who understands him, it's very normal for them to be comrade and competitors since they are warrior and assasin, I do not like the idea that people twist that into unhealthy romance.
ALso, Garen is not batman. Batman lives in the dark. It's nothing similar at all.
Would like to hear Katarina's side of the relationship. Like why she's attracted to Garen.

It is pretty much confirmed canon. Their love is one that was forged on opposite sides of the battlefield, but continues to persist outside it. I mean shit, Garen fought off fellow Demacians who tried to attack her before,
Idk its heavily implied but never confirmed just like Zelda in link in Legend of Zelda, lux and ezreal in lol and sora and kairi kingdom hearts (not to mention numorus other examples those just came to mind). In the end i think that its really the fans that end up deciding who really gets shipped with in these implied but not confirmed type of things. I think thats its not only intentional, but its more fun that way! Tbh im on fanfic sites quite a bit, just go to Ao3 or fanfic and you'll find almost twice as many Darius/Garen stories then Garen/Kat ones. In the end think of it how you want. I picture it more like an angstful and tragic relationship they want to be together but are forced to fight and are torn between nation and love. So really its up to you to decide their relationship status. Personally i love all the noxus/demacia ships out there, Dar/Gar being my favorite tho. Like I said you decide!
