Question about the black mist

What do you think it would do to say, a painting? Would it make the color fade away, or have it on the brink of deterioration?

I like to imagine that the combination of supernatural cold and moistness of the mist would artificially accelerate deterioration. Things like an oil painting starting to crack, and maybe even patches of mold developing in the edges. Gilt frames might start to flake and lose their luster.

In my mind, they'd start to look like they'd been left in someone's leaky basement for a decade or two.

What if its a ginger painting? Does it have a soul to rip?

If the painting was alive, it would die.

I'm talking a plain painting, such as one of a king or queen from the era of the blessed isles.

A whole ecosystem that thrives of death ... except not even those can survive. So what's left?

If everything was to reset in the universe ... does everything become as black as the void of space?

Imagine ten inches from your face using both hands to rip reality open .. except it's a Black Mist binding beginning and ending of Time.

It'd probably twist the painting into a dark mirror of its subject, causing him (or her) to be immortal but to lead an empty and meaningless life of debauchery and sin.
