RIOT: Where is that Miss Fortune voice update?

The last time I asked about this was when they made the GGMF skin with tons of voice lines.

The thread was downvoted to obscurity and told I should just wait for the Bilgewater event, how silly of me!... Well, The Bilgewater event is NOW and Miss Fortune's voice is as outdated as ever.

"I always shoot first." "Sure you can handle me, summoner?" "Watch your mouth kid, or you'll find yourself respawning at home!" "How do you like my guns... Shock, and Awe!" Please Riot.[sg-miss-fortune] A Starwars reference, talking to summoners, an Iraq war reference? Seriously (Oh why does have one of these too?)--

Meanwhile, we have got two major Bilgewater lore updates, a the ~~legendary~~ultimate GGMF Skin with 18 minutes of audio, a Bilgewater audio drama, and even new illustrations for the Miss Fortune short story. (good work on that btw!)

Yet Sarah Fortune is still calling me Summoner, and making a Star Wars joke every 10 seconds in lane. I'm not just complaining for the sake of it, Miss Fortune is one of the first championss I bought, and my main. But her voice lines were embarrassing in 2011 (her laugh is cool though), and in 2018 I can't believe we still have these. So forgive the hyperbole, I'm just in disbelief.

Riot please update this VO. :(

The VO update they were working on was iceboxed. They didn't specify that it was MF (smart, since it ended up being iceboxed...), but given their reasoning for setting it aside, it sure SOUNDS like MF.

They said that players felt it was very different from the current VO for the champ when their intention was to expand, not change the character's personality. Further, half of the players hated that it was "changed" and half of them welcomed the changes. To me, it sounds like they were going to make MF more in-line with her lore, but didn't leave in the sexy/seductress/femme-fatale part and just went straight badass, leaving some players satisfied but others sad to see the "cool" MF go.

Again, it wasn't confirmed that the VO was for MF; just my speculation.

Shock and Awe isn't an Iraq war reference. It's a military tactic that's been used for centuries, and has been in pop culture since long before the wars of the 90s. It's a tactic of supremely overwhelming the enemy before they have time to respond.

I highly doubt Shock and Awe would be removed from her VO, as they're the names of her guns, and even the new emote references them. But she does need a VO update pretty badly (as well as an animations update). Riot did say they cold boxed most of the VO updates due to conflicts in direction.

i would love an alistar VO update to fit his newer models as well. It’s annoying to still hear “You can’t milk those”

Omg yesssss, we neeed this update asap, don’t get me wrong I love her voice now but I’m tired of her telling me about shock and awe Lol MissFortune

The MF short story isn't new,they just added some pictures to the extisting one.

The shock and awe part is kinda wrong tho, both the roman legions and Sun Tzu employed the same concept under different names and words.

Go in and crush either a key enemy position or a key leader before they even know whats going on and seize the momentum from there, if the leader dies the chain of command will be damaged and morale will fall, if a key position falls then the soldiers know they´ll have to struggle like hell and likewise morale will fall.

Ok, I know the term Shock and Awe predates the Iraq war, however considering the timing and the culture of the time (2010), that at the time people would be referencing that, and that Miss Fortune lines are cheesy jokes-- I'm fairly certain they were not thinking about Sun Tzu.

But I'm fine if her guns are called Shock and Awe. I'm not stuck on this, there's a much bigger picture as It's just one cheesy line of her 18 total lines of cheesy dialogue. Sarah Fortune is a far more complete character nowadays, her voice lines always sucked, and I just really want to see them do something. :(

We will get it soon enough. They most likely Iceboxed it as there was a VO they mentioned a while back that their internal testers didn't feel felt right. Which coincidentally was around the time of Gun Goddess Miss Fortune, so it was most likely her update, and they plan to try it again in the future.
